Beavercreek, Ohio, Monday, December 1, 2008: Today John Mitchel announced he has requested the Beavercreek City Council consider him for appointment to Jerrod Martin’s open council seat. Martin will step down in January to serve as Ohio ’s 70th House District Representative. Mitchel is an Air Force veteran of 22 years and currently works at Wright Patterson AFB as a systems analyst. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and has earned advanced degrees in business from Michigan Tech University and economics from Wright State . In 2006 LtCol Mitchel (Ret) self-published America at the Abyss: A View from the Heartland which has received acclaim for exposing fraud, waste, abuse and corruption in government as the primary cause of the current economic crisis in Ohio and the U.S.I think Mitchel would be good for this posting...
In response to the announcement, Mitchel commented, “Beavercreek will surely miss Jerrod Martin, but his constituents in Greene County will be better off as Jerrod has been a steadfast advocate for Beavercreek taxpayers. If offered the privilege to serve, I will bring that same philosophy to the job. If appointed, my first priority will be to socialize among the other six council members an “It’s Not Our Money” mindset. Whether in good economic cycles or bad, that’s precisely what Beavercreek taxpayers want and what they deserve.”

The Xenia Gazette:
Lampton appears to be a fairly good candidate to succeed DeWine. Anyone having an opinion ought to feel free to sound off in the comments or email me (wmdtvmatt - at -yahoo - dot- com).
Beavercreek —?Local Business Owner, Brian E. Lampton, announces his candidacy for the State House of Representatives seat district 70 that encompasses Bath Township, Fairborn, Beavercreek and Beavercreek Township, Xenia and Xenia Township. The seat occupied by Kevin DeWine will be vacated in 2009 due to term limits. Lampton is running as a Republican in the March 4th primary. “I believe in lower taxes and a smaller, fiscally responsible government,” says Lampton.I'd like to see Kevin DeWine be the full-time state party chairman as quicly as possible.
Lampton has been elected to and has served on many local community boards, such as the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, The Beavercreek Rotary Club, The Popcorn Festival Committee, and The South Dayton AMBUCS. Lampton is also very active in his insurance profession belonging to the NFIB, the Professional Insurance Agents Association and is a local Past President, and current State Trustee of the National Association Of Insurance And Financial Advisors. Lampton has also coached youth baseball and football and he was recently hired as the “voice” of the Beavercreek varsity football team for the home games at Zink Field.
According to Lampton, “I have a proven track record of community involvement and service, and I will bring a high level of commitment and leadership to serve the people of the 70th district.” Lampton owns and operates an independent insurance agency in Beavercreek Ohio and has been an insurance agent since 1990. Lampton was born and raised in the Dayton area graduating from Fairmont West High School, and he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dayton. He also holds two insurance degrees. Lampton has been married to Dianne for 20 years and has two children who attend the Beavercreek City Schools.
