Seriously, Kim Jong Il was the son of a dirtbag who leaves a dirtbag behind to rule and suck out the marrow of North Korea. And don't buy all the public crying. The media morons in this country do, but seriously....these people had to cry on cue or be shot. Don't believe the hype.

Conservative estimates place the number of North Korean citizens killed by starvation in the past decade at 2-3 million. That is 10% or greater of the population. Apply that ratio to the US or European population base and the real horror sinks in. Paradoxically, this mass starvation occurred during a period when the North Korean regime of Kim Jong Il was the largest recipient of American food aid of any other country. But Kim and his communist party minions spread food aid where it would do their regime the most good: to prop up the military and to sell on the black market to line corrupt bureaucratic pockets. His people, the Dear Leader, arrogantly said, could 'eat bark.'

The expression that "one human death is a tragedy; a million, a statistic," has been variously attributed to Stalin, Adolph Eichmann, and others of their ilk. Regardless of who said it, they all agreed with the core principle: the world will let a dictator get away with mass murderer. Kim Il Sung, the self-styled Great Leader and original dictator of North Korea, behaved accordingly. So does his son and successor, Kim Jong Il. The two imposed a grotesque personality cult upon the people of North Korea of such pervasiveness that even Josef Stalin and Mao Zedong would be envious. They emulated those mentors by constructing a gulag of political prison camps of the most awful sort throughout the remote areas of North Korea. The camps are a death machine into which alleged “enemies of the state,” criminals, and the “politically unreliable,” especially Christians, are condemned. Along with these “undesirables” typically go their families, often down to three generations because of the regime’s stated policy to “root out the poisonous ideologies.” Concentration camp inmates work under brutal conditions usually to their deaths, are kept barely alive by meager rations, denied medical attention, and routinely tortured and executed. Estimates are that 200,000-300,000 people at any given time are locked into these terrible prisons.

I know wherever Lil Kim is, it is very warm, and not very comfortable.

North Korea Could Produce 2 Nukes a Year? Where was the State Department?

Perhaps if Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were more concerned with keeping the peace instead of having diplomats spy and learn about what makes the leader of Argentina cry, we would have been more in front of this North Korean Debacle:

North Korea, which fired dozens of artillery shells at the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong this morning, could make one or two bombs' worth of enriched uranium per year if its new enrichment facility is fully operational, a nuclear analyst says.

The shells killed two soldiers and set houses ablaze, according to Reuters, in one of the heaviest attacks on South Korea since the Korean war in the 1950s. The two countries then exchanged further fire.

These events closely follow reports on 20 November by an engineer and two nuclear policy experts from the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University in California that they saw an industrial-scale uranium enrichment plant in a visit a few days earlier to North Korea.

North Korean officials told the team that the plant has 2000 centrifuges that are already being used to separate fissile uranium-235 from the more abundant uranium-238.

If that is true, North Korea could make 30 to 40 kilograms of highly enriched uranium per year, enough for one or two nuclear weapons, says Hui Zhang of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Although North Korea is believed to already possess plutonium-based nuclear weapons, uranium-based weapons can be more efficient, allowing them to produce more powerful explosions, says Robert Alvarez of the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington DC.

Good News! Syria Might Have Nukes

Last week, I was seeing all these reports about an alleged Israeli air strike in Syria. It even came up a couple of times in the daily State Department briefings.

Turns out, that there is some serious evidence that Syria may have some nuclear facilities that are being funded by...wait for it...Iran...and stocked by...wait for it...North Korea.

Democrats Gut American Missile Defense by $764 Million

In the National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 1585) Democrats have proposed cutting $764 million from critical missile defense programs, weakening America ’s ability to defend against ballistic missile attacks.

REPUBLICAN RESPONSE

House Republicans support a robust missile defense program capable of defending America from foreign threats, be they terrorist groups or rogue regimes like Iran or North Korea.

Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ), Chief Deputy Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA), and GOP Conference Chairman Adam Putnam (R-FL) will offer an amendment to restore the $764 million for missile defense funding. In addition, Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) will offer an amendment clarifying the legislation will not prevent “missile defense capabilities from being placed on operational alert to respond to an immediate threat posed by ballistic missiles.”

DEMOCRATS’ HISTORY OF FAILURE ON MISSILE DEFENSE

Unfortunately, this is just another chapter in a long line of Democratic failures to provide for America ’s missile defense. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) once said, “The United States does not need a multi-billion-dollar national missile defense against the possibility of a nuclear-armed intercontinental ballistic missile.” And over the last few years alone, Democrats have repeatedly voted to slash funding from missile defense programs:

The measure this week comes as North Korea – who attempted to detonate a nuclear weapon last fall – is reportedly developing new weapons capable of hitting the United States. The International Herald Tribune reports:

“North Korea is developing a new long-range ballistic missile that may be capable of hitting the U.S. territory of Guam …”

This has the added bonus of pleasing Vladimir Putin who seems very interested in the US not placing missile defense systems in Europe. Maybe we should think about why that is...

North Korea Update: They Can Hit US With Missile

North Korea is technically capable of building a long-range missile that can hit the United States despite a test failure last year, a senior US military intelligence official said Tuesday.
Lieutenant General Michael Maples, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, said North Korea has probably learned from the failure of its Taepodong-2 missile during a test in July, and made changes to its other missiles.

"I believe they have the technical capability, as we saw by the Taepodong, but they have not successfully tested it yet," he told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Asked how long before North Korea would have a missile capable of reaching the United States, he said, "I would probably estimate it's not a matter of years."

This is anothe brewing crisis on the horizon. We are well past the time for a solution. I blame China...clearly the Chinese do not have what it takes to be a superpower...
