The last couple of paragraphs from this AP story on yesterday's arrests have me asking some questions:Several terrorism investigations have had south Florida links. Several of the Sept. 11 hijackers lived and trained in the area, including ringleader Mohamed Atta, and several plots by Cuban-Americans against Fidel Castro's government have been based in Miami.are all these Miami connections a coincidence? Or is ther more to this? The anti-Castro stuff makes sense... Why so many Islamofascist terrorists have chosen Miami as a base of operations is what I don't get.
Jose Padilla, a former resident once accused of plotting to detonate a radioactive bomb in the U.S., is charged in Miami with being part of a support cell for Islamic extremists. Padilla's trial is set for this fall.
UPDATE: Oh yeah, I forgot something important... I blame Bush that this cell has been captured. %^&* that guy...
