North Korea Update

AP NEws Alert:
UNITED NATIONS (AP) Japan has dropped the threat of sanctions from a new Security Council draft resolution on North Korea.
And this is why diplomacy won't work...

This effort now basically boils down to "Stop it, Kim Jong Il, or we'll ask you to stop it again!"

Worse than useless.

UPDATE: Of course, if the AP could get the story right...
UNITED NATIONS (AP) Japan has circulated a new Security Council draft resolution that includes the threat of sanctions against North Korea. (CORRECTS APNewsAlert that said Japan's new proposal had dropped the threat.)
Depending on what level of sanctions we're talking about here, the assessment just might stay the same though...

UPDATE 2: AP News Alert:
CHICAGO (AP) President Bush says a diplomatic solution to North Korea's missile threat takes time, which is a problem.
Heh. Indeed.
