Terrorist Surveillance Program Update

AP News Alert:
WASHINGTON (AP) The House has approved a bill giving legal status to President Bush's warrantless wiretapping program with restrictions.
I wonder how Sherrod Brown voted in that one...I just might look in on it later...but if you know, feel free to leave it in the comments.

UPDATE: Majority Leader John Boehner issued this statement (via email):
"A large majority of Americans strongly support the Terrorist Surveillance Program because it represents a common sense weapon in the fight against terrorism. The President must have access to the necessary tools to confront the terrorist threat and stop potential terrorist attacks before they happen. Allowing American intelligence officials to intercept phone calls made by al Qaeda operatives overseas to their cohorts in the United States provides valuable information about potential terror plots and terrorist cell operations in the global war on terror.

"The Democrats' irrational opposition to strong national security policies that help keep our nation secure should be of great concern to the American people. This national security program has proven effective in stopping future attacks, and our intelligence officials must continue to have this valuable capability. Rep. Wilson deserves great credit for her work to preserve this valuable program, and her work on this legislation. I would also like to commend Chairmen Sensenbrenner and Chairman Hoekstra for their leadership and their efforts to strengthen America's national security."
