Schmidt votes to stimulate economy... of MexicoSo...that sounds pretty devestating?
Cincinnati, OH - Conservative Republican Congressional candidate Tom Brinkman today blasted Jean Schmidt for her vote in favor of sending tax rebates to "resident aliens" who, under the bill, aren't required to prove they are legal residents of the United States in order to receive the rebate.
"This is just one more example of Jean Schmidt's inability to recognize a bad piece of legislation. Fortunately the Senate was a little more cautious," said Brinkman. "First she votes to bring a nuclear waste dump to our district and now this. We need to restore effective leadership for the citizens of Southern Ohio."
Well, not actually...
What Team Brinkman is NOT telling you is that the ENTIRE Ohio delegation, except for Stephanie Tubbs-Jones (didn't vote) and Marci Kaptur (nay vote), voted for HR-5140. HR-5140, by the way, is also known as Recovery Rebates and Economic Stimulus for the American People Act of 2008. It is the economic stimulus package that includes the return of up to $1200 in tax money to its rightful owners: the American people.
COASTer hero Steve Chabot? He voted for it...
Republican Leader, my Congressman and a Great American -- John Boehner? He voted for it...
How about Rep. Jim Jordan? Yep...he voted for it too.
I guess these guys are no longer considered "conservative" by the COASTer crowd...
And here is the best part...
The provision which Team Brinkman objects to was stripped by the Senate anyway...
UPDATE: For the record, I object to the fundamentally dishonest way this distortion of the record was pulled off.
UPDATE 2: And I find it interesting that Brinkman himself brings up the "nuclear waste dump" thing. That didn't work for Nate Noy or Vic Wulsin last time. It is a sham. A lie. Blatant aspersion, backbiting, calumniation, calumny, complete distortion of the facts, corker, deceit, deception, defamation, detraction, dishonesty, disinformation, distortion, evasion, fable, fabrication, falsehood, falseness, falsification, falsity, fib, fiction, fish story, forgery, fraudulence, guile, hyperbole, inaccuracy, invention, libel, mendacity, misrepresentation, misstatement, myth, obloquy, perjury, prevarication, revilement, reviling, slander, subterfuge, tale, tall story, terminological inexactitude, vilification, white lie, whopper, be untruthful, beguile, break promise, bull, con, concoct, deceive, delude, dissemble, dissimulate, distort, dupe, equivocate, exaggerate, fabricate, fake, falsify, fib, forswear, frame, fudge, invent, jazz, jive, make believe, malign, misguide, misinform, misinstruct, mislead, misrepresent, misspeak, misstate, overdraw, palter, perjure, pervert, phony up, plant, prevaricate, promote, put on, snow, soft-soap, string along...
Or put another way, it is complete and utter BULL$#|+...
UPDATE 3: For those interested, I've posted on the waste dump BS before. Catch that here.
