Latest FEC filing shows strong broad-based support; Schuring has the resources and the message to reach every corner of the district State Sen. Kirk Schuring has outraised his congressional primary opponent by a margin of more than 3-1, and has three times as much cash on hand, according to reports filed with the Federal Elections Commission.

The latest report shows Schuring has raised more than $266,000 since he began his campaign, including more than $75,000 in the fourth quarter of 2007 — three times more than his opponent raised in the same period. Schuring has roughly $154,000 cash on hand — more than twice as much money as his opponent has raised in total. Schuring's fundraising far out-paces his primary opponent, and demonstrates a wide array of support from across the district.

"The support demonstrated for my campaign from across the district is very much appreciated," said Schuring. "It's clear that I have both the resources and the message to carry this campaign to every corner of the district, all the way through the election. The fact that almost all the money comes from the district shows that I have their support. They know that I'll be their voice and fight for them in Washington."

Kirk Schuring is a life-long resident of Stark County Ohio, where he lives with his wife and two children. He was reelected four times to represent the 55th House district before running and winning a Senate Seat in the 29th District in 2002. He won reelection to the Senate in 2006.
