A Fair and Balanced Question

From My Way News (AP):
Gridiron President Al Hunt, a columnist for The Wall Street Journal, spun that into a pun about conservatives' fondness for Fox News Channel: "That pretty much sums up the White House philosophy: Why waste time with newspaper reporters when you can spend quality time with Fox?"

Matt's Chat

My answer is that the newspapers and other networks don't give the American people anything close to an objective look at the news. Journalism has become a partisan activity. And quite frankly, if I'm going to watch achors comment on the news rather than report it, I'd like to see my point of view now and again...

Mark's Remarks

The news is no longer objective, Mr. Hunt. You know that. And as for the whole Fox News thing, what, are you jealous because they continue to grow and outpace other sources and outlets? Have you ever thought it is maybe because FOX DOES try to get it fair and balanced? All we see on CNN and the Network News is Bush and conservative bashing. They don't even try to hide it anymore. In fact, the media have become some brainwashed and demented that they think trashing conservatives and being biased is fair and objective. People who are radicals with an agenda masking as newsmen like Rather, Donaldson, and Koppel give reporters a bad name. It used to be you were fair to everyone, but since liberals cozied up to the reporters, it is all about trashing conservatives. Shameful behavior, and that is why more and more people are leaving traditional news outlets.

I for one am sick and tired of seeing the blatant double standard by the network news. I, for one, am tired of being villified because I have a differing opinion. So, I tune to a network that at least attempts to be fair and balanced, and will disclose personal biases, rather than put forth those biases as the way things are or should be.
