Madison County GOP Unanimously Endorses Morgan for Auditor

It occurs to me that it is becoming more and more likely that the establishment could be doing serious damage to our nominee for the general election...of course, that won't stop them from fighting either and I wouldn't have it any other way.  I just wish that the usual suspects would realize that they aren't the only game in town and that the differences between us are based on what we think is right for our state and our party.

Anyway, congrats to Team Morgan for another victory!

Madison County GOP Endorses Widener for Senate

This just in...

XENIA, OH 1/16/08 - Chris Widener, conservative Republican candidate for the Ohio State Senate, picked up his second county party endorsement in as many weeks with last night's endorsement from the Madison County Republican Party Central Committee. He received 96% of the vote.

"I've been humbled by the overwhelming and expanding support that has met my campaign, and I'm honored to add Madison County to the ever growing list of Republican endorsers," said Widener. "I look forward to continuing to serve this area in the state senate."

This announcement comes on the heels of the endorsement from the Greene County Republican Party, his opponent's home county, just last week where Widener garnered 70% of the vote. The Republican Senate Caucus under the leadership of Senate President Bill Harris has also recently endorsed Widener.

Widener, who currently serves Madison and portions of Clark and Greene counties in his fourth term as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, has always worked to represent the conservative values of the area and has always taken the time to listen to the concerns of the area's residents. He'll continue that dedicated service to our community as our next state senator.

Widener is chairman of the House Financial Institutions, Real Estate, and Securities Committee. In his service in the House of Representative, Widener voted to cut income taxes, provided prescription drug coverage for 1.4 million Ohio seniors without any additional costs to the taxpayers, and helped pass a state budget with the lowest growth in spending in nearly half a century.
