Perrysburg Police Arrest Four with Stolen Romney Signs
Release:
Columbus, Ohio - The Ohio Liberty Coalition today released a police report from the arrest at 1:00 AM Friday morning by the Perrysburg Police Department of four males, driving in a Ford F-150 Pickup that was filled with stolen Romney campaign signs. The truck’s owner is the Sheet Metal Workers International, Union Local 33 in Parma, OH. Many of the stolen signs were believed to have been put up by members of the Northwest Ohio Conservative Coalition according to John McAvoy the President of the Group.
McAvoy described the situation as it was reported to him "This morning 4 men driving a pickup truck registered to the Sheet Metal Union, Local 33 were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property - in the form of a bed full of Romney/Ryan yard signs, some measuring as large as 4'x8'. Also in the truck were tools such as drills, which were possibly used to take the large signs down. The signs were allegedly removed from several private property and business locations across Lucas and Wood County."
He continued by adding "We find it unfortunate that the Sheet Metal Union is involved in such low behavior and actively suppressing freedom of speech during such an important election. We hope the news media will investigate. Wide reports of Romney signs being stolen have been an issue for many weeks, but this is the first we've heard of anyone being caught."
Tom Zawistowski, President of the Ohio Liberty Coalition, added "This has been a serious issue all election season all over Ohio. What we have seen is not random theft of a few signs here and there, but instead a literal clensing of entire areas of signs. That has to be planned and executed by someone who has no respect for the law or for free speech." Zawistowski concluded by saying "In Portage County, we had gotten advance notice that lots of signs were going to be taken last night and sure enough entire streets of signs were missing this morning. Most of which were on private property and many that were not near the road. It will be interesting to learn from the investigation if those caught in Perrysburg were being paid by the Union while they were taking the signs. Our member groups will not hesitate to prosecute individuals who are caught taking signs and we encourage anyone that has a sign stolen to file a police report."
The Ohio Liberty Coalition is a coalition of Ohio Liberty Groups whose purpose is to unite conservative grassroots organizations for greater effectiveness in the state and nation, and to provide resources for member organizations to strengthen their groups. The OLC currently has over 75 liberty-minded groups across Ohio who are members of its coalition.

GUEST COLUMN: "Obama’s Defense Cuts Will Leave Lima Struggling"
BY: REP. BOB LATTA
During the vice presidential debate, Joe Biden said that more M1 Abrams tanks were no longer necessary. For people who live in Lima and work to make the tanks, Biden is saying the jobs they love and care about are no longer necessary.
President Obama’s looming defense cuts are threatening to devastate our national security and destroy jobs across the nation. In Lima alone, the President’s 2013 defense budget plan puts at jeopardy nearly 800 jobs, including thousands of jobs at small businesses. Under the President’s plan, General Dynamics, the company that manufacturers the tanks, would be forced to temporarily shut down and hand out hundreds of pink slips. To add insult to injury, the plant has already cut a number of well-paying jobs.
At a time when 23 million Americans across the country are struggling to find work, it’s unconscionable to kick more Lima workers to the unemployment line. Unfortunately, this course of action is unwise when we are trying to preserve our national security and jump start our economy.
The Lima plant tank is not only vital to the local economy but our country’s national security and military readiness. However, Joe Biden and Barack Obama don’t seem to understand this. If the tank plant isn’t saved, we risk losing a unique manufacturing skill set and perhaps most concerning is the way the world views us. When we make cuts to our defense we project weakness abroad.
Perhaps most concerning about the President’s reckless pursuit of disarmament is his commitment to pursue it at a time when disorder is on the rise abroad, particularly in the Middle East. Every day, Iran marches closer to a nuclear weapon, and in Syria, tens of thousands of innocents have been slaughtered by an oppressive regime.
Indeed, the world is a dangerous place. It’s quite clear that closing the doors to a plant here in Lima and cutting our defense at this critical moment is not the solution. They don’t seem to understand that when we make cuts to our defense that the President’s own Secretary of Defense characterized as “devastating,” we project weakness abroad.
I know the President hopes for a safer, freer, and a more prosperous Middle East allied with the United States. I share this hope. But hope is not a strategy. We cannot protect the United States and support our friends when our words are not backed up by deeds when our defense spending is being arbitrarily and deeply cut, when we have no trade agenda to speak of, and the perception of our strategy is not one of partnership, but of passivity.
And that’s why the contrast before the American people in this election could not be more important.
Mitt Romney will not weaken our nation’s defenses. He will reverse the President’s misguided cuts to our military. Instead of leading from behind, he’ll restore American leadership across the globe. And he’ll put America on a new course at time when we cannot afford four more years of the same failed policies.

Mittmentum in Ohio is REAL
Early and absentee voting have become the thin reed to which the Obama campaign is clinging in Ohio. As Mitt Romney has seen a surge in the polls and while enthusiasm is cratering even among Barack Obama’s most fervent supporters, Democrats have pointed to strength in early and absentee voting as their secret weapon in this election. But a closer look at the numbers reveals the truth—President Obama’s early voting firewall in Ohio is an illusion.
The Obama campaign can spin, but the numbers don’t lie. Democrats traditionally have a large advantage in early and absentee voting whereas Republicans vote on Election Day. But Republicans have slashed that advantage this cycle. In 2008, 42.5 percent of early ballots were cast by Democrats, whereas only 22 percent were Republicans. This cycle, 35 percent of these ballots have been cast by Democrats, while Republicans have increased their share to 28 percent. That number will only continue to narrow. Republicans have closed the gap on Democrats’ historic absentee and early vote advantage for 14 of the past 15 days. At the same time, in many of Ohio’s biggest counties, Republican absentee voting is actually outpacing—often by large percentages—the number of registered Republicans.
What do these numbers show? The show a Republican base that is energized and excited about Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan and a Democratic Party that is depressed and demoralized after four years of Barack Obama and a campaign that has offered nothing but more of the same.
No doubt Democrats will continue to point to their shrinking lead in absentee and early voting. But privately, they know that a wave is building, and it will carry Mitt Romney all the way to the White House.

Support Stacey Dash, Maligned for Supporting Mitt
Actress Stacey Dash didn't think it would be that big a deal. She tweeted that she was supporting Governor Mitt Romney and why. You may know Ms. Dash from her films like Clueless, Illegal in Blue, and many other appearances on film and TV. She is an African American actress. Well, the hate and threats and racist taunts began immediately. Stand up for people like Ms. Dash. Support people who are willing to come out and not be cowed by racist stereotypes and what the left and conventional wisdom expect from them. Here is a recent interview she did regarding the firestorm with Piers Morgan:
She speaketh the truth. And it is her right to do it. It is racist to think she just has to blindly support Mr. Obama. The liberals are hating on her for speaking her own mind. Funny, from the party of tolerance that they would be doing such things. But not really. It is actually very typical.

Big Birding Politics
I never thought for a minute that I would be taking time during this election cycle to talk about Big Bird, but here we are... As I said on the radio show last night, the reason I know that Mitt Romney scored a knock out in the debate this week is that the only real substantive complaint I have heard from the left deals with Romney's comment about de-funding PBS.
Before we get in to why I think this is a ridiculous campaign issue, let me say that I believe strongly that quality educational television for children is a good and noble thing. While I think it is ridiculous, I don't think the issue is silly. Silly implies a level of entertainment that I am not feeling with this issue. Sure, it was amusing at first to think that out of all the issues discussed in the debate it would be Big Bird that soared to the top when there are so many other bigger problems that deserve serious consideration and honest debate. Bit if we are going to take the time at this critical juncture in out nation's history, let's treat the issue with the some respect.
Sesame Street is a great brand and has terrific marketing behind the show so it would survive and thrive in any television market. If Big Bird were on the ballot, I have no doubt that the big guy would win in a blowout.
PBS in general, and Sesame Street in particular, does not need to be funded by taxpayer dollars. Lefties say that PBS represents a mere 0.0012% of the federal budget. I haven't done the math on that, but I'll accept that number to be true and just say that if we can't cut even 0.0012% of the federal budget without a federal case made out of it, we have even bigger problems ahead.
It has been noted elsewhere that taxpayer dollars represent only 12% of PBS's revenue. I think that is a small enough number that PBS ought to wean itself off government largesse and stop seeking continued corporate welfare. Let's not forget that PBS is a corporation. They are making millions of dollars off of Sesame Street merchandising alone. Big Bird is the 1%.
The reason why PBS is a favorite target of conservatives has nothing to do with Sesame Street. And the left's bringing it up is political theater designed to cast the right as evildoers who don't care about children. We don't care for PBS because the bulk of the programming on PBS is politically biased and/or redundant. That Bill Moyers gets airtime at all on a channel paid for by taxpayers ought to be a crime. The Jim Lehrer News Hour is not needed in this day and age of the 24 news cycle.
I look at PBS as one of the symbols of what Big Government run amok. On the one hand, PBS has managed to put themselves in fairly good financial shape. They really don't need money from the government to fund their operations, but they keep sticking their hand out because they know government will keep borrowing money from China to keep the greenbacks rolling off the presses. I would be much more impressed with PBS if the corporation said that they no longer needed government money. Imagine what a victory that would be for Big Government! Finally a program that started with public funding that managed to find a way to stand on its own. PBS should be a model for government programs, instead it is just another in a long line of budget items that takes our hard earned cash and puts it in to the wallets of millionaires.
Big Bird, it ain't personal big guy, but you need to stop stealing our money. You got a great job that pays well and you will be taken care of for many more generations to come because your corporate parents saw fit to ensure your financial success.

AARP, Exposed As Not Caring About Senior Like Obama, Throws Prez Under Bus....
The AARP, who loved Obamacare because it would help them make all sorts of money by providing additional medical care services to seniors even though it would ulitmately lead to seniors getting the shaft through rationing, are now abandoning their boy Barry Obama. It seems they don't want the President telling the truth that the AARP worked hand in glove with the administration to get Obamacare done, wiping away any pretense of the liberal organization being non-partisan, which I have known forever....from the Washington Examiner:
President Obama invoked AARP to defend his health care law last night, prompting the influential group to release a statement telling him not to do that again. “While we respect the rights of each campaign to make its case to voters, AARP has never consented to the use of its name by any candidate or political campaign,” the group posted in a statement. “AARP is a nonpartisan organization and we do not endorse political candidates nor coordinate with any candidate or political party.” Obama can perhaps be forgiven for thinking he could mention AARP given how they coordinated with him to pass Obamacare, which is a golden goose for the organization. “Thanks to its cuts to Medicare Advantage, Obamacare is expected to expand the number of seniors buying “medigap” supplemental insurance plans,” The Washington Examiner explained in an editorial. “AARP controls 34 percent of the market for such plans.See, seniors...it was never about helping you. It was so the young college grads who work for AARP in places like DC and who lobby for them could make bigger money by selling you products because the government would further ration care. Disgusting, isn't it? Check out this number:
According to a 2011 House Ways and Means Committee report, AARP stands to make between $55 million and $166 million from Obamacare in 2014 alone.”Remember, the AARP was closely involved with trying to get Obamacare done....from the WSJ:
Thanks to just-released emails from the House Energy and Commerce Committee, we now know that AARP worked through 2009-10 as an extension of a Democratic White House, toiling daily to pass a health bill that slashes $716 billion from Medicare, strips seniors of choice, and sets the stage for rationing. We know that despite AARP's awareness that its seniors overwhelmingly opposed the bill, the "nonpartisan membership organization" chose to serve the president's agenda. The 71 pages of emails show an AARP management taking orders from the White House, scripting the president's talking points, working to keep its board "in line," and pledging fealty to "the cause." Seniors deserve to know all this, as AARP seeks to present itself as neutral in this presidential election. The emails overall show an AARP leadership—Policy Chief John Rother, Health Policy Director Nora Super, Executive Vice President Nancy LeaMond, Senior Vice President David Sloane—that from the start worked to pass ObamaCare, before crucial details pertaining to seniors had been addressed. This crew was in constant contact with Mr. Obama's top aides, in particular Nancy-Ann DeParle and Jim Messina. As early as July 2009, Mr. Sloane was sending the administration—"as promised"—his "message points" on Medicare. Ms. DeParle assured him "I think you will hear some of your lines tomorrow" in President Obama's speech—which he did. Even in November 2009, as the ObamaCare debate progressed, Ms. LeaMond worried that the Medicare spin wasn't working against public criticism of the bill. She emailed Mr. Messina and Ms. DeParle that she was "seized" with "concerns about extended coherent, strong messaging by Republicans on the Medicare savings." To pull off the legislation, she mused, "we"—the White House and AARP—will need a "concerted strategy." In August 2009, AARP had already unveiled a national advertising blitz for ObamaCare, to ensure that "every member of Congress knows the 50-plus community wants action to fix what's wrong with healthcare." The group made this claim despite weeks of daily tracking showing its members in revolt against the president's plan. July 23, 2009: AARP reported to the White House that 1,031 members called in against the proposed health-care changes; 77 called in support. July 28, 2009: 4,174 opposed; 36 in support. July 29, 2009: 2,656 opposed; 23 in support. Mr. Sloane told the White House that AARP lost 1,897 members in a single day "in disagreement over our position on health reform." All the reports to Team Obama were accompanied by AARP's request to keep the information "close," apparently so word didn't leak that seniors hate ObamaCare. And the ad blitz went on.

Obama's Freudian Debate Slip: "Everyone Gets 'Fair' Share"
From the Weekly Standard:
In President Obama's closing statement at last night's debate, he seemed to make a remarkable slip. "All those things are designed to make sure that the American people, their genius, their grit, their determination, is -- is channeled and -- and they have an opportunity to succeed. And everybody's getting a fair shot. And everybody's getting a fair share," Obama said before quickly correcting himself and adding"[E]verybody's doing a fair share, and everybody's playing by the same rules," he added.Obama let slip his statist, socialist leanings again. Again, part of who he really is: a cold, intellectually uncurious, close minded bigoted effite snob who wants to control your life....
Libs: It was All ______'s Fault Regarding Poor Obama Debate Showing
Al Gore: It was the altitude's fault. No Kidding. That is what he said.
Stephanie Cutter: It was all Jim Lehrer's Fault!
Michael Moore: It was all John Kerry's Fault!
Here is a tweet he sent: This is what happens when u pick John Kerry as your debate coach."
Bill Maher: Lehrer sucked! (from his twitter)
Others who blamed Lehrer via twitter were the View's Sherri Sheppard (upset Moochelle may not be able to have the View gals over to the White House next year for tea), ABC news Dan Abrams, Daily Beast writer Michael Tomasky, and the host who nobody watches because she is ugly, a liar, and boring--Rachel Maddow.
The fact of the matter, people, is that it is Obama's fault. He can't live without the prompter. We have seen that the Wizard of O is not so big and bad behind the curtain without his props. It is liberalism's fault and the media's fault for not vetting and propping up this clown for the last four years. Liberalism is full of lies, and when it faces real conservatism and articulation of the ideas like Romney engaged in, it always loses.
But, as usual, the liberals have to blame someone else....As my friend Tom Blumer at bizzyblog says...BooHooOuch!

The Debate of a Lifetime
The hype for debates is often overblown while the substance of the event itself disappoints. That was not the case last night.
The reviews of the first presidential debate are in, and the unquestioned winner was Mitt Romney. Check out this video of Mitt Romney dismantling the President’s position during the debate. And the Republican National Committee quickly put together this fact check pointing out some of the President’s less than truthful positions.
I hate to be so one sided—everyone believes in equal time after all. But the President’s debate performance was a lot like his presidency. It was unfocused and inconsistent. He wasn’t forceful. He displayed no leadership. If President Obama thought that anything Mitt Romney said was incorrect or if he thought any of his criticisms of the President’s record was unfair, we didn’t hear it.
Simply put, Mitt Romney showed why he is ready to be president and why is ready to end the economic downturn. President Obama? Not so much.

An Achievement?
The Obama campaign has recently been pushing a false narrative that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan want to cut Medicare. But there are two key problems with this narrative. The first is that it isn’t true. The second is that President Obama has already cut Medicare.
In passing his expensive healthcare overhaul known as Obamacare, President Obama cut more than $700 billion from Medicare. Perhaps he thought no one would notice, or that no one would care. He couldn’t have been more wrong.
Seniors, for one, don’t agree with his actions. For people who worked all their lives and paid, as President Obama likes to call it, “their fair share” in taxes, these cuts are devastating. They made an investment in their retirement, and looked on as President Obama pillaged that investment.
Even worse is the fact that the President’s campaign has characterized these cuts as an achievement. I suspect seniors don’t agree with that assessment. I also doubt that the next generation does, either. They’re watching as Medicare speeds down a path to bankruptcy, and President Obama has no plan to bring solvency to the program.
We need leadership that will offer solutions, not more of the same passing the buck to future generations. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will reform Medicare by strengthening it. Under their plan, current retirees and those approaching retirement won’t see any changes. In fact, a Romney-Ryan administration would restore the funding that President Obama raided to pay for Obamacare. They would also ensure that the program our children and grandchildren inherit is one that can keep its promises.
We don’t need another four more years of President Obama saying one thing and doing another.

A Campaign of Distraction and Deception
What sort of campaign do we want? Do we want a campaign of ideas, or do we want a campaign of mud-slinging and distraction?
We know the approach the Obama campaign is taking. The Obama campaign is desperate for a win, and their record isn’t exactly something they can tout. Thus, they will use any means to attain that advantage, including using a man’s deceased wife.
This is page from Barack Obama’s campaign website.
Yes, that’s the Obama campaign accusing Mitt Romney of killing a woman.
This attack, of course, has been debunked and rebutted by everyone and anyone outside of the Obama campaign walls. It is emblematic of a campaign without a record on which to run, one that will say anything and everything it needs to win, whether it’s true or not.
Remember that when they start their inevitable attacks on Paul Ryan. Barack Obama won’t make this a campaign about ideas. Only the American people can do that.

Mitt Romney's Remarks in Norfolk, VA
Boston, MA – Mitt Romney today delivered the following remarks in Norfolk, Virginia after he selected Paul Ryan to be his Vice Presidential running mate:
Ladies and gentlemen:
It’s great to be back in Virginia and here in Norfolk. Your city's beauty is only matched by its proud heritage as a defender of freedom. Today we take another step forward in helping restore the promise of America. As we move forward in this campaign and on to help lead the nation to better days, it is an honor to announce my running mate and the next Vice President of the United States: Paul Ryan.
Paul Ryan is a leader.
His leadership begins with character and values. And Paul is a man of tremendous character, shaped in large part by his early life.
Paul’s father died when he was in high school. That forced him to grow up earlier than any young man should. But Paul did, with the help of his devoted mother, his brothers and sister, and a supportive community. And as he did, he internalized the virtues and hard-working ethic of the Midwest.
Paul Ryan works in Washington – but his beliefs remain firmly rooted in Janesville, Wisconsin. He is a person of great steadiness, whose integrity is unquestioned and whose word is good.
Paul’s upbringing is obvious in how he has conducted himself throughout his life, including his leadership in Washington.
In a city that is far too often characterized by pettiness and personal attacks, Paul Ryan is a shining exception. He does not demonize his opponents. He understands that honorable people can have honest differences. And he appeals to the better angels of our nature. There are a lot of people in the other party who might disagree with Paul Ryan; I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t respect his character and judgment.
Paul is in public life for all the right reasons – not to advance his personal ambitions but to advance the ideals of freedom and justice; and to increase opportunity and prosperity to people of every class and faith, every age and ethnic background. A faithful Catholic, Paul believes in the worth and dignity of every human life.
With energy and vision, Paul Ryan has become an intellectual leader of the Republican Party. He understands the fiscal challenges facing America: our exploding deficits and crushing debt – and the fiscal catastrophe that awaits us if we don’t change course.
Paul Ryan combines a profound sense of responsibility for what we owe the next generation with an unbounded optimism in America’s future and an understanding of all the wonderful things the American people can do.
Paul also combines firm principles with a practical concern for getting things done. He has never been content to simply curse the darkness; he would rather light candles. And throughout his legislative career he’s shown the ability to work with members of both parties to find common ground on some of the hardest issues confronting the American people.
Paul and I are beginning on a journey that will take us to every corner of America. We are offering a positive, governing agenda that will lead to economic growth, to widespread and shared prosperity, and that will improve the lives of our fellow citizens. Our Plan to Strengthen The Middle Class will get America back to work and get our country back on track.
We offer solutions that are bold, specific, and achievable. We offer our commitment to help create 12 million new jobs and to bring better take home pay to middle class families.
To strengthen the middle class, we will provide our workers and our children with the skills to succeed. We’ll cut the deficit, have trade that works for America, and champion small business. And finally, we will unleash our energy resources to achieve North American energy independence.
We will help care for those who cannot care for themselves, and we will return work to welfare. As poverty has risen to historic and tragic levels, with nearly one out of six Americans now having fallen into poverty, we will act to bring these families into the middle class. Unlike the current president who has cut Medicare funding by $700 billion, we will preserve and protect Medicare and Social Security. Under the current president, healthcare has only become more expensive. We will reform healthcare so that more Americans have access to affordable healthcare, and we will get that started by repealing and replacing Obamacare.
And at a time when the President's campaign is taking American politics to new lows, we are going to do things differently. We are going to talk about aspirations and American ideals; about bringing people together to solve the urgent problems facing our nation. And when that message wins in America, it will be a victory for every American.
Today is a good day for America. And there are better days ahead. Join me in welcoming the next Vice President of the United States - Paul Ryan

Paul Ryan's Remarks in Norfolk, VA
Boston, MA – Congressman Paul Ryan today delivered the following remarks in Norfolk, Virginia after Mitt Romney selected him to be his Vice Presidential running mate:
Thank you Governor Romney, Ann. I am deeply honored and excited to join you as your running mate.
Mitt Romney is a leader with the skills, the background and the character that our country needs at a crucial time in its history. Following four years of failed leadership, the hopes of our country, which have inspired the world, are growing dim; and they need someone to revive them. Governor Romney is the man for this moment; and he and I share one commitment: we will restore the dreams and greatness of this country.
I want you to meet my family. My wife Janna, our daughter Liza, and our sons, Charlie and Sam.
I am surrounded by the people I love, and I have been asked by Governor Romney to serve the country I love.
Janesville, Wisconsin is where I was born and raised, and I never really left it. It’s our home now.
For the last 14 years, I have proudly represented Wisconsin in Congress. There, I have focused on solving the problems that confront our country, and turning ideas into action; and action into solutions.
I am committed, in heart and mind, to putting that experience to work in a Romney Administration. This is a crucial moment in the life of our nation; and it is absolutely vital that we select the right man to lead America back to prosperity and greatness.
That man is standing next to me. His name is Mitt Romney. And he will be the next president of the United States
My dad died when I was young. He was a good and decent man. I still remember a couple of things he would say that have really stuck with me. "Son you are either part of the problem or part of the solution."
Regrettably, President Obama has become part of the problem,...and Mitt Romney is the solution.
The other thing my dad would say is that every generation of Americans leaves their children better off. That's the American legacy.
Sadly, for the first time in our history, we are on a path which will undo that legacy. That is why we need new leadership to become part of the solution – new leadership to restore prosperity, economic growth, and jobs.
It is our duty to save the American Dream for our children, and theirs.
And I believe there is no person in America who is better prepared – because of his experience; because of the principles he holds; and because of his achievements and excellence in so many different arenas – to lead America at this point in its history.
Let me say a word about the man Mitt Romney will replace. No one disputes President Obama inherited a difficult situation. And, in his first 2 years, with his party in complete control of Washington, he passed nearly every item on his agenda. But that didn’t make things better.
In fact, we find ourselves in a nation facing debt, doubt and despair.
This is the worst economic recovery in 70 years. Unemployment has been above 8 percent for more than three years, the longest run since the Great Depression. Families are hurting.
We have the largest deficits and the biggest federal government since WWII.
Nearly 1 out of 6 Americans are in poverty--the worst rate in a generation. Moms and dads are struggling to make ends meet.
Household incomes have dropped by more than $4,000 over the past four years.
Whatever the explanations, whatever the excuses, this is a record of failure.
President Obama, and too many like him in Washington, have refused to make difficult decisions because they are more worried about their next election than they are about the next generation. We might have been able to get away with that before, but not now. We’re in a different, and dangerous, moment. We're running out of time -- and we can't afford 4 more years of this.
Politicians from both parties have made empty promises which will soon become broken promises--with painful consequences--if we fail to act now.
I represent a part of America that includes inner cities, rural areas, suburbs and factory towns. Over the years I have seen and heard from a lot from families, from those running small businesses, and from people who are in need. But what I have heard lately troubles me the most. There is something different in their voice and in their words. What I hear from them are diminished dreams, lowered expectations, uncertain futures.
I hear some people say that this is just "the new normal." High unemployment, declining incomes and crushing debt is not a new normal. It's the result of misguided policies. And next January, our economy will begin a comeback with the Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class that will lead to more jobs and more take home pay for working Americans.
America is on the wrong track; but Mitt Romney and I will take the right steps, in the right time, to get us back on the right track!
I believe my record of getting things done in Congress will be a very helpful complement to Governor Romney’s executive and private sector success outside Washington. I have worked closely with Republicans as well as Democrats to advance an agenda of economic growth, fiscal discipline, and job creation.
I’m proud to stand with a man who understands what it takes to foster job creation in our economy, someone who knows from experience, that if you have a small business—you did build that.
At Bain Capital, he launched new businesses and he turned around failing ones – companies like Staples, Bright Horizons and Sports Authority, just to name a few. Mitt Romney created jobs and showed he knows how a free economy works.
At the Olympics, he took a failing enterprise and made it the pride of our entire nation.
As governor of Massachusetts, he worked with Democrats and Republicans to balance budgets with no tax increases, lower unemployment, increase income and improve people’s lives.
In all of these things, Mitt Romney has shown himself to be a man of achievement, excellence and integrity.
Janna and I tell Liza, Charlie and Sam that America is a place where, if you work hard and play by the rules, you can get ahead.
We Americans look at one another's success with pride, not resentment, because we know, as more Americans work hard, take risks, and succeed, more people will prosper, our communities will benefit, and individual lives will be improved and uplifted.
But America is more than just a place...it's an idea. It's the only country founded on an idea. Our rights come from nature and God, not government. We promise equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.
This idea is founded on the principles of liberty, freedom, free enterprise, self-determination and government by consent of the governed.
This idea is under assault. So, we have a critical decision to make as a nation.
We are on an unsustainable path that is robbing America of our freedom and security. It doesn't have to be this way.
The commitment Mitt Romney and I make to you is this:
We won't duck the tough issues...we will lead!
We won't blame others...we will take responsibility!
We won't replace our founding principles...we will reapply them!
We will honor you, our fellow citizens, by giving you the right and opportunity to make the choice:
What kind of country do we want to have?
What kind of people do we want to be?
We can turn this thing around. Real solutions can be delivered. But, it will take leadership. And the courage to tell you the truth.
Mitt Romney is this kind of leader. I'm excited for what lies ahead and I'm thrilled to be a part of America's Comeback Team. And together, we will unite America and get this done.
Thank you.

Ryan for Veep Reactions
Tom Zawistowski, President of Ohio Liberty Coalition:
Columbus, Ohio - The Ohio Liberty Coalition released a statement today supporting the announcement of Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan as the Vice-Presidential pick of Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney. OLC President Tom Zawistowski said "Our members will see this as a solid conservative pick and will be excited about supporting a Romney-Ryan ticket. It tells us that Mitt Romney intends to take our current and future financial challenges seriously. That he is willing to do the difficult things that must be done to get government spending and regulations under control and allow the private sector to start growing again. Paul Ryan is an excellent choice and he will be a valuable asset on the campaign trail and in working with Congress as the Vice-President."Rob Gleason, Chairman of Republican Party of Pennsylvania:
He concluded by saying, "This pick will force the Obama camp out of their campaign of distraction and into a position of having to defend their failed economic policies and flawed tax-and-spend socialist economic philosophies. Paul Ryan understands our fiscal issues better than anyone and is articulate enough to make the case for fiscal reform in an easy to understand manner that will connect with the American people."
Today it is official; Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan to join him on the Republican ticket as his Vice Presidential running mate.Chairman Reince Priebus and RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day of RNC:
A Romney-Ryan team will close the door on four years of President Obama's high unemployment, out-of-control spending, and usher a new era of American prosperity.
"My friend and fellow Wisconsinite Paul Ryan will serve America admirably as the next Vice President of the United States. Today, Americans are starving for leaders who can fix our economy and get our spending under control. Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan have the knowledge, expertise and vision we need to get America working again and get our fiscal house in order. Across the country, Americans are hurting, but America's Comeback Team will offer us a new direction and a brighter future. I congratulate Governor Romney on his excellent decision. This is a great day for Wisconsin and for America," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.Congressman Allen West:
"I share the Chairman's enthusiasm for Congressman Paul Ryan. The Romney-Ryan ticket will help get America working again," said RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day.
"I am pleased to congratulate my colleague, Congressman Paul Ryan, on being selected to join Mitt Romney on the road to the White House as his Vice Presidential running-mate. As I have always said, I will wholeheartedly support the Republican candidates, and with true fiscal conservative Paul Ryan, on the ticket, I am particularly pleased to do so.Jeb Bush, former Governor of Florida:
Congressman Ryan has a deep understanding of the fiscal challenges facing our nation in both the short and long term. He has consistently provided realistic, actionable solutions that will keep our promises to our seniors while putting our economy back on the "Road to Prosperity." Unlike President Obama, he put forward a serious budget.
The damaging economic policies of President Obama's administration have left Americans with unemployment at or above 8% for 42 months and they are now facing the largest tax increase in history. His foreign policies have emboldened our enemies and left our allies vulnerable. Our nation cannot afford to continue down this destructive path which seeks to wed more Americans to government handouts, saddles our children and grandchildren with insurmountable debt, weakens our defenses at home and abroad, and turns Americans against each other. President Romney and Vice President Ryan will put our nation back on a course of economic freedom and equality of opportunity for all Americans.
The combination of Mitt Romney's successful record in business and government, and Paul Ryan's legislative experience and willingness to lead on pressing fiscal problems is just the recipe to get America back on the right path. President Mitt Romney and Vice President Paul Ryan are what we need to begin restoring the greatness of our Constitutional Republic."
“I applaud Mitt Romney’s selection of Paul Ryan as his Vice Presidential running mate. Congressman Ryan’s command of economic policy and the federal budget will prove invaluable as Governor Romney fights to reform government, accelerate job growth and rein in the out-of-control spending that has been a hallmark of President Obama’s years in office. This courageous choice is the type of leadership American voters deserve. And, I believe it will ensure a victory for the Romney-Ryan ticket this November.”Bobby Jindal, Governor of Louisiana:
"Paul is a good friend and one of the smartest guys I served with in Congress. He has the courage of his convictions, which is what our nation needs."

The Numbers Tell The Story
Remember these numbers. 41. 6. 113. 10.
As of today, we’ve had 41 straight months of unemployment above 8 percent. And yet it’s been six months since President Obama attended a meeting of his jobs council. How could this be? According to the President’s spokesman, Jay Carney, “There’s no specific reason, except the president has obviously got a lot on his plate.”
So where do 113 and ten come in? 113 is the number of fundraisers President Obama has held in that period of time, while ten is the number of rounds of golf he has enjoyed.
Yes Ohio, President Obama clearly has a lot on his plate.

Obama's Clueless On Capitalism Update
Barack Hussein Obama has not a clue when it comes to job creation or how capitalism works. Aside from the obvious evidence from his failed stimulus and green energy initiatives, his latest idiotic statements show he is clueless. According to Obama, if you started a business that has continued into existence and/or matured, you didn't do it and aren't responsible for it. Someone else did that....Yeah....seriously....check it out:
There is even video. Seriously, Mr. President? You honestly believe this? If you started a business, you built it. Sure, you may have had help or partners, and of course Providence. However, for you to say someone else made a business happen? You, sir, are not just clueless, you are damn delusional....If this were the case, then let's use your internet example....if it was just because government helped, then webcrawler would be as successful as google, or altavista would be the same as google, or beta would be sold with vhs with dvds and blue ray.
Sir, you have no clue and are so wrapped up in your communist/socialist/dictatorial philosophy that you don't even know reality. And this is but one of many reasons you need to be removed from office, not to mention your impeachable offenses of rewriting and disavowing an established statute in the case of welfare reform. Raymond Kroc didn't build McDonalds? Dave Thomas didn't build Wendys? Of course, there were others, but it is because of those men and the shareholders initiative as well as divine Providence, NOT GOVERNMENT, that these businesses have flourished. If it was due to other things, then where is burger chef? IDIOT!
If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
