Veteran's Day Scattershot Blasts November 11, 2013

First, THANK YOU to all of our Veterans, for your sacrifice, service, and standards of excellence.
God bless you and yours on this Veterans Day!

Sadly, We Don't Do Enough for Our Veterans....
Forty Percent of our Vets are on/need food assistance....

Some Good News....Paralyzed Vet to Walk Again....
Amazing what God's gift of technology and invention can do.  Check it out!

Hundreds Attend Funeral for "Unknown" WWII Vet....
Glad to see some folks showing respect for the Greatest Generation...

Debbie Delusional At it Again....
DNC Chair Debbie WasAMan Shultz, er, Wasserman Shultz said that she believes that the Democrats will run and win on Obamacare in 2014.  She also had said earlier that she didn't think the President told a lie to the American people with "if you like your plan, you can keep it."

I Guess Everyone in Oregon Likes What They Have....
Because NO ONE has enrolled in the exchanges in Oregon!

Like Rats, Many Obamacare Fans Are Jumping Ship....
Will they use the "I was actually against Obamacare as I voted for it?" Defense?  Will they use the "well, you couldn't have expected me to read the whole bill?" idea?  The Senators up for re-election in competitive states in 2014 are starting to panic, though they still aren't offering solutions for anything other than their own growing political jeopardy.  But, didn't they hear Debbie WasAMan Shultz?  They should embrace voting for this fiscal black hole....

Mental Health Mandate Will Drive You Nuts!
From Forbes
So while Obamacare is driving up the cost of a policy for many Americans by 50 percent to 100 percent, the new mental health rules will make coverage even more expensive—though it’s difficult to know by how much.
The state-based mental health mandate usually operated in an environment where health insurers could deny coverage for a preexisting condition.  Obamacare is eliminating that practice.  Now people with mental health, substance abuse and behavioral issues can sign up—well, if the bureaucrats ever get the website fixed—for subsidized coverage with very few limits.
Evidence is already emerging that those who have signed up are older than average, and they will surely be sicker—because they are the uninsureds most motivated to get coverage.
Furthermore, the mental health mandate could mean that millions of additional health policies will be canceled because Obama just expanded what’s considered qualified coverage.
If the past few weeks haven’t convinced you the Obama administration never understood how the law would affect health insurance, this new effort should do it.

Bold Prediction:  Obamacare Will Be Repealed Before 2014!?!
Steven Hayward says:
Prediction: even if HealthCare.gov is fixed by the end of the month (unlikely), Obamacare is going to be repealed well in advance of next year’s election.  And if the website continues to fail, the push for repeal—from endangered Democrats—will occur very rapidly.  The website is a sideshow: the real action is the number of people and businesses who are losing their health plans or having to pay a lot more.  Fixing the website will only delay the inevitable.
Check out his rationale here....some interesting theories....

Democrat Dictatorship Disease on the March....
Days after a Republican was elected mayor of Annapolis, City Council members say they will revisit legislation that would strip the mayor’s office of much of its power.  What a bunch of sore losers!!!

Free Speech for Anyone...But Christians!

Clayton Luckie: 45 Days in Office with 45 Felony Charges

COLUMBUS - Ohio Republican Party Chairman Bob Bennett called on leaders in the Ohio Democratic Party to force disgraced Democrat State Representative Clayton Luckie to stop drawing a taxpayer paycheck and resign, as this week will mark day 45 Luckie has received a paycheck while under indictment.

Luckie is under federal indictment for 49 counts of criminal activity in one of the largest FBI investigations of the Ohio Democratic Caucus in Ohio legislative history. Forty-five of these counts, such as theft in office and money laundering, are felonies. Speaker of the House William Batchelder (R-Medina) immediately called for Luckie's resignation when the indictment was issued more than a month ago.

"Enough is enough and the fact that Clayton Luckie continues to take a taxpayer paycheck while facing charges of lying, cheating, and stealing is a disgrace to the Democrat Caucus and an outrageous affront to the people of his district," said Bennett. "Lukie has four times as many felony charges as Bernie Madoff and he still hasn't resigned."

"Chairman Redfern, Minority Leader Budish, and other top Democrats offered lip service and slaps to Luckie's wrist, but have done absolutely nothing meaningful to remove Luckie from office," said Bennett. "Democrat party leaders can force Luckie to resign today."

On November 14, 2006, Luckie, supported by former Governor Ted Strickland, was appointed by the Democrat Party to the 39th House District seat that was vacated by Dixie Allen after she left her seat to run for county commissioner as a Republican. Luckie's October 10th indictment is a result of a continuing investigation by the FBI, which began 19 months ago, into the issue of payday lending legislation in the Ohio General Assembly.

The same investigation resulted in the conviction of former Democrat State Representative Carlton Weddington to three-year prison sentence for bribery, election falsification, and ethics violations. Weddington resigned from office after he was indicted.

Libs: It was All ______'s Fault Regarding Poor Obama Debate Showing

Al Gore:  It was the altitude's fault.  No Kidding.  That is what he said.

Stephanie Cutter:  It was all Jim Lehrer's Fault!

Michael Moore:  It was all John Kerry's Fault!
Here is a tweet he sent:  This is what happens when u pick John Kerry as your debate coach."

Bill Maher:  Lehrer sucked!  (from his twitter)

Others who blamed Lehrer via twitter were the View's Sherri Sheppard (upset Moochelle may not be able to have the View gals over to the White House next year for tea), ABC news Dan Abrams, Daily Beast writer Michael Tomasky, and the host who nobody watches because she is ugly, a liar, and boring--Rachel Maddow.

The fact of the matter, people, is that it is Obama's fault.  He can't live without the prompter.  We have seen that the Wizard of O is not so big and bad behind the curtain without his props.  It is liberalism's fault and the media's fault for not vetting and propping up this clown for the last four years.  Liberalism is full of lies, and when it faces real conservatism and articulation of the ideas like Romney engaged in, it always loses.

But, as usual, the liberals have to blame someone else....As my friend Tom Blumer at bizzyblog says...BooHooOuch!

Three Brown County Women Enjoyed the Booing God Convention

Three Brown County women enjoyed attending a convention where God was booed and shouted down not ONCE, NOT TWICE, BUT THREE TIMES. I wonder what their churches (if they have any) think about it? These women, two teachers who are union hacks, one who was a "close" confidant of Ted Strickland and head of a local teacher union terribly misrepresent the facts. The close confidant of Ted Strickland has in the past with other superintendents railroaded prospective teachers if she knew they were republican, leading to them not being hired and/or put on substitute lists. But then again, that is what liberals do. From the Obama Propaganda rag in Brown County, the News Democrat:
Alta Beasley, long-time supporter of the Brown County Democratic Party, Melissa Cropper, president of the Ohio Federation of Teachers, and Theresa Montgomery, a retired educator, have returned to Brown County from their trip to the 46th Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

It was Beasley's second time attending the event, and the first for Cropper and Montgomery.

You may recognize the name Beasley....this woman is related to Gordon Beasley, the former Brown County Engineer (who allowed numerous homes to be built in flood plains, then claims no culpability) who went on to become one of the most inept heads of ODOT this state has ever had.

In the article, the women all remark how the convention was highlighted by regular people speaking...You know, regular people like Sandra Fluke, the woman who thinks the govt. should pay for her irresponsibility with her own vagina by making churches violate their own creeds by paying for contraceptives and birth control. Or, people like the former Michigan governor who claiimed Obama saved the American auto industry, while not talking about how GM is ready to go bankrupt again, or how Ford was able to do better without accepting bailout money!

Or how about all these "regular folks" who booed God:

So, the next time Josh Black, Kelly Moran, Tom Grennan, Sherrod Brown, Dale Anderson, or any other person running on the Democrat ticket visit you and ask for your vote...ask them some simple questions:
1. Are they Christian?
2. Did they know their party booed God three times?
3. If they know this, then how can they claim the same mantle that not only boos God, but cheers when talking about killing 50 million babies through abortion?
4. If they are a Democrat, then how can they be a Christian since the Democrat National Convention boos God down?

I'm just curious their answer......

Lawless Obama Administration: Kathleen Sebelius Edition

Kathleen Sebelius is the Secretary of Health and Human Services. She was a huge advocate for the scumbaggery that is Obamacare. She wants to know everything about your lives. She is also a lawbreaker. She has flouted the law, but this is no different from many in Obama's cabinet. Where is the media outrage? from Heritage:
Independent federal legal officials have concluded that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius violated federal law by conducting political activity “in an official capacity,” according to a statement released on Wednesday.

“Sebelius violated the Hatch Act when she made extemporaneous partisan remarks in a speech delivered in her official capacity on February 25, 2012,” the news release from the U.S. Office of Special Council states.

The Hatch Act prohibits federal employees from using their official authority or influence to affect the outcome of an election. A federal employee is permitted to make partisan remarks when speaking in their personal capacity, but not when using their official title or when speaking about agency business.

After the event, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) reclassified the trip from official to political and issued a statement to that effect. Secretary Sebelius and HHS reimbursed the U.S. Treasury for all costs and expenses associated with her travel to the event. OSC found no evidence that Secretary Sebelius made any other political statements in her official capacity.

The Obama administration’s decision to allow cabinet secretaries such as Sebelius to speak at events sponsored by large Democratic electioneering groups has raised other Hatch Act concerns.

Ultimate Sacrifice Earns Ultimate Snub from President

Imagine, folks, if George W. Bush sent fallen soldiers' families, especially Navy SEALS, who have been the edge of the spear for the last 12 years, condolence letters that were simply form letters with autopen signatures. You would hear the media screaming about how he really didn't care about the families, about how he just viewed the military as tools for taking back his Daddy's failures in Iraq, etc... But, where except on WMD and Drudge and Gateway Pundit do you hear that IN FACT we have a President in Barack Obama who is sending form letters with autopen signatures to the families of the best and brightest who have given the last full measure of their devotion under his command?
DISGUSTING....

From Gateway Pundit:
On August 6, 2011, 30 US service members were killed when a CH-47 Chinook helicopter they were being transported in crashed in Wardak province, Afghanistan. It was the deadliest single loss for U.S. forces in the decade-long war in Afghanistan. 17 members of the elite Navy SEALs were killed in the crash.

Yesterday, Karen and Billy Vaughn, parents of Aaron Carson Vaughn, spoke at the Defending the Defenders forum sponsored by the Tea Party Patriots outside the RNC Convention in Tampa. Karen brought a copy of the form letter they were sent following their son’s death.

It’s a form letter.

It was signed by an electric pen.

That’s not all.
Karen Vaughn reached out to the parents of the other SEALs killed in that crash.
Their letters were all the same.
Form letters – signed by an electric pen.

But, as the post notes, His The Oneness did take time out from golfing and campaigning and stealing from Medicare to write the family of rapper Heavy D a letter of condolence when he passed away....

So at least he has some priorites....just the wrong damn ones!

Obama's Clueless On Capitalism Update

Barack Hussein Obama has not a clue when it comes to job creation or how capitalism works. Aside from the obvious evidence from his failed stimulus and green energy initiatives, his latest idiotic statements show he is clueless. According to Obama, if you started a business that has continued into existence and/or matured, you didn't do it and aren't responsible for it. Someone else did that....Yeah....seriously....check it out:
If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

There is even video. Seriously, Mr. President? You honestly believe this? If you started a business, you built it. Sure, you may have had help or partners, and of course Providence. However, for you to say someone else made a business happen? You, sir, are not just clueless, you are damn delusional....If this were the case, then let's use your internet example....if it was just because government helped, then webcrawler would be as successful as google, or altavista would be the same as google, or beta would be sold with vhs with dvds and blue ray.

Sir, you have no clue and are so wrapped up in your communist/socialist/dictatorial philosophy that you don't even know reality. And this is but one of many reasons you need to be removed from office, not to mention your impeachable offenses of rewriting and disavowing an established statute in the case of welfare reform. Raymond Kroc didn't build McDonalds? Dave Thomas didn't build Wendys? Of course, there were others, but it is because of those men and the shareholders initiative as well as divine Providence, NOT GOVERNMENT, that these businesses have flourished. If it was due to other things, then where is burger chef? IDIOT!

A Team of Jokes and Stereotypes

My goodness! Obama appears to be losing Vanity Fair! Even former and current advisors are calling him a failure. From Vanity fair:
Barack Obama famously declared that, if elected, he would want “a team of rivals” in his Cabinet, telling Joe Klein, of Time magazine, “I don’t want to have people who just agree with me. I want people who are continually pushing me out of my comfort zone.” His inspiration was Doris Kearns Goodwin’s best-selling book about Abraham Lincoln, who appointed three men who had been his chief competitors for the presidency in 1860—and who held him, at that point, in varying degrees of contempt—to help him keep the Union together during the Civil War. To say that things haven’t worked out that way for Obama is the mildest understatement. “No! God, no!” one former senior Obama adviser told me when I asked if the president had lived up to this goal. With a few prominent exceptions, Obama has surrounded himself mostly with a team of loyalists. They range from the very competent (Janet Napolitano at Homeland Security) to the perennially controversial (Eric Holder at Justice) to the underwhelmingly anonymous (could anyone but a union leader pick Labor Secretary Hilda Solis out of a lineup?). In the main, Obama relates to his Cabinet the way he relates to the rest of the world. “He’s a total introvert,” the former adviser told me. “He doesn’t need people.”

Obama also doesn't need people because he thinks he is the smartest guy ever. He employs incompetents like geithner, holder, and big sis naopolitano because they are political symbionts who won't stand up to him. He just has yes people who bend to him. This is why he rules as an emperor, because he is surrounded by people too obligated to him to be effective. The article rambles on in defense of these jokers by saying cabinets are blasé anyway. Pathetic.

Florida Dems Desecrate American Flag with Obama's Likeness

This is an outrage....from Ch 9 in florida:
Tempers are flaring over a version of the American flag flying in Lake County. A veterans group says the flag is an outrage.

The flag, which features a picture of President Obama, was taken down Tuesday afternoon.

Korean war veteran Don Van Beck said his blood was boiling.

"I can't describe how upset was because you just don't do that to the American flag," Van Beck said.

Van Beck found it flying outside Lake County Democratic headquarters under the stars and stripes. Marine Corps vet John Masterjohn was seeing red.

"Joseph Stalin, pictures of Mao, pictures of Adolph Hitler. The pomp, the ceremony -- the flags like that," Masterjohn said.

Nearly a dozen veterans went to the door and aimed to take it down.

"No. This is private property. This is private property. You're not allowed to touch anything. I'll call the police," Democratic Party chairwoman Nancy Hulbert said. "Just went online. Just went online and looked up the flag code. There is no higher-up in Lake County. I'm responsible. I take responsibility."

"If you've been a veteran and fought -- and some died for this flag -- you don't want to see it desecrated. That's how simple it is," Van Beck said.

Obama Doesn't Like Nor Want White Working Class Folks

The Dems are trumpetting how now they just want to focus on white elitists and low income minorities. What about the white working/middle class folks? Forget about em. Shows you how bad things are for the Bamster, since he now has to actually be honest. From the NY Times:
For decades, Democrats have suffered continuous and increasingly severe losses among white voters. But preparations by Democratic operatives for the 2012 election make it clear for the first time that the party will explicitly abandon the white working class.

All pretense of trying to win a majority of the white working class has been effectively jettisoned in favor of cementing a center-left coalition made up, on the one hand, of voters who have gotten ahead on the basis of educational attainment — professors, artists, designers, editors, human resources managers, lawyers, librarians, social workers, teachers and therapists — and a second, substantial constituency of lower-income voters who are disproportionately African-American and Hispanic.

First, I take issue that the Dems were ever FOR the white working class/middle class. In fact, look at a lot of even FDR's policies, and who did they favor? Big business. Who are Obama's policies favoring? Crony big businesses. Where is the help for the small working class guy? Nowhere. So, for all you union types who think the Bamster still loves ya, what do you think now? He has used you and played you. Maybe a bit of wising up is in order.

The Scream Coming to Stump for Senator Charade Brown

Excuse me, I meant Sherrod. No, wait, I do mean Charade. Charade Brown has been a chameleon at times, pretending to be for a balanced budget amendment when it never had a chance of passing, then speaking against it now that he is a Senator. He shifts his views with the winds, does this Mr. Connie Schultz. Yes, he is married to "journalist" Connie Schultz, so don't take anything she writes as objective. Of course, this is Charade's second marriage. His first one ended badly, with allegations of abuse and drugs. Well, Sherrod is having a fundraiser and Dr. Dean is coming. From the Ohio Republican Party:
Ohio is 700 miles from Vermont, but it seems a lot closer when you look at Sherrod Brown's pals.

Sherrod Brown was recently rated by National Journal as one of the most liberal members of the U.S. Senate. In fact, Brown received the same liberal vote score (two years in a row) as the self-described socialist Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders. While Brown's voting record is clearly outside of the mainstream, it's his affiliation with another highly controversial Vermonter which is particularly noteworthy.

Howard Dean has not gone away; in fact he is headlining a private $1,000 per plate fundraiser this evening to benefit Brown's reelection to the U.S. Senate. Some of the words Howard Dean has used to describe Republicans are "evil," "bad for democracy," "selfish," "self-absorbed," and "brain-dead." In fact, Howard Dean went so far as to say that he "hates Republicans, and everything they stand for."

Ouch! That's a pretty scathing attack on 1.6 million Ohioans.

What's so disturbing about these comments is that many Democrats have proactively, and very publicly, distanced themselves from Howard Dean's disturbing rhetoric - however, Sherrod Brown is not among their ranks.

Seeing that Howard Dean is coming to Columbus to fundraise for Brown, and endorse his reelection campaign, shouldn't Brown provide some insight as to whether or not he agrees with Howard Dean's long history of controversial comments?

In fact, just three weeks ago, the former Vermont Governor actually claimed that the U.S. credit downgrade was a "good thing." A GOOD THING? SERIOUSLY?

Liberal Howard Dean and socialist Bernie Sanders may share some pretty extreme viewpoints with Sherrod Brown, but they are not from Ohio. They don't have to face Ohio voters next year, or even be held to account for their records or radically extreme rhetoric. Sherrod Brown does, and Ohioans deserve to know if he embraces Dean's rhetoric as much as the campaign dollars the former governor brings in for his reelection campaign.

Does Sherrod Brown Agree With Howard Dean That the U.S. Credit Downgrade Was a Good Thing?

"The firebrand Democrat and former Vermont governor said the Standard & Poor's downgrade of the nation's credit is 'a good thing' because it underscores the need to raise revenue to address the nation's fiscal crisis." (Julie Mason, "Dean: What's the tea party smoking?," Politico, 8/7/11)

Does Brown Agree with Howard Dean's Divisive Views On the Republican Party?

"You know, the Republicans are not very friendly to different kinds of people. They're a pretty monolithic party. Pretty much, they all behave the same, and they all look the same. ... It's pretty much a white Christian party.'' (Carla Marinucci, Dean: The mouth that won't stop roaring," The San Francisco Chronicle, 6/8/05)

Dean: "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for." (Dana Milbank, "Dean's Past As Prologue To DNC Future," The Washington Post, 1/29/05)

Dean: "The Republican Party is a party of self-absorption and selfishness ..." (Susan McDonough, "Dean, In Oakland, Invokes Morality," Oakland Tribune, 4/2/06)

Dean: "This is a struggle of good and evil. And we're the good." (Joel Mathis, "Dean Roars Into Town," Lawrence [KS] Journal-World, 2/26/05)

Dean: "You think the RNC could get this many people of color into a single room?" [Dean] marvels. "Maybe if they got the hotel staff in there." (Mark Leibovich, "The Special-Interest Group Hug," The Washington Post, 2/12/05)

Dean: "These guys [Republicans] are bad for democracy. They are not interested in ideas but interested in power and they are not interested in the best interest of the American people." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/6/05)

Dean: "[R]epublicans ... a lot of them have never made an honest living in their lives." (DNC Chairman Howard Dean, Remarks at Campaign for America's Future "Take Back America Conference," DC, 6/2/05)

Dean: "Republicans are all about suppressing votes ..." (DNC Chairman Howard Dean, Remarks At Campaign For America's Future "Take Back America Conference," DC, 6/2/05)

Dean Called Republicans "Brain-Dead." (Peter Gorrie, "Spreading the Message," Toronto Star, 3/20/05)

Does Brown with Howard Dean's Views on National Security?

Dean: "I still have this old-fashioned notion that even with people like Osama, who is very likely to be found guilty, we should do our best not to, in positions of executive power, not to prejudge jury trials. So I'm sure that is the correct sentiment of most Americans, but I do think if you're running for president, or if you are president, it's best to say that the full range of penalties should be available. But it's not so great to prejudge the judicial system.'" (Lisa Wangsness, "Dean's Secure In His View Of Saddam," Concord Monitor, 12/26/03)

Dean: "We've gotten rid of him [Saddam Hussein], and I suppose that's a good thing" (William Saletan and Avi Zenilman, "The Gaffes of Howard Dean," Slate.com, 9/25/03)

Does Brown Agree with His Fellow Democrats on Howard Dean?

"Republicans and Democrats alike have criticized Dean for the unnecessary harshness of his comments. Democratic senator Joe Biden distanced himself from the comments, saying that Dean 'doesn't speak for me with that kind of rhetoric and I don't think he speaks for the majority of Democrats.'" ("Republicans "Never Made An Honest Living In Their Lives" Says Howard Dean," LifeSiteNews.com, 6/8/05)

"On Wednesday, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said that while Dean was 'doing a great job' as party chairman, 'I don't think the statement that the governor made was a helpful statement.' She later added that it 'is not a fair assessment to characterize the Republicans' the way Dean did." ("Dean defends view of GOP as 'Christian party'," Associated Press, 6/8/05)

"Democratic New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said Tuesday that Dean is doing a good job, but is not the party's spokesman." ("Dean defends view of GOP as 'Christian party'," Associated Press, 6/8/05)

"[Joe] Biden, asked about Dean Wednesday during an interview on the Don Imus radio show ... said that Dean 'has views that are slightly different than mine ... But look, he's a lightning rod. ... It's probably good that there's a guy out there that's a lightning rod ... .' Biden, however, added that he thinks 'the rhetoric is counterproductive.'" Queen Michelle NoBelle Obama: $10Million for Massages and Booze

This woman is a modern day Marie Antoinette. While the people are starving, she is living in the lap of luxury....ON YOUR DIME. Seriously:
The Obamas' summer break on Martha's Vineyard has already been branded a PR disaster after the couple arrived four hours apart on separate government jets.

But according to new reports, this is the least of their extravagances.

White House sources today claimed that the First Lady has spent $10million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year.

Branding her 'disgusting' and 'a vacation junkie', they say the 47-year-old mother-of-two has been indulging in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol.

'It's disgusting. Michelle is taking advantage of her privileged position while the most hardworking Americans can barely afford a week or two off work.

'When it's all added up, she's spent more than $10million in taxpayers' money on her vacations.'

The First Lady is believed to have taken 42 days of holiday in the past year, including a $375,000 break in Spain and a four-day ski trip to Vail, Colorado, where she spent $2,000 a night on a suite at the Sebastian hotel.

And the first family's nine-day stay in Martha's Vineyard is also proving costly, with rental of the Blue Heron Farm property alone costing an estimated $50,000 a week.

The source continued: 'Michelle also enjoys drinking expensive booze during her trips. She favours martinis with top-shelf vodka and has a taste for rich sparking wines.

'The vacations are totally Michelle's idea. She's like a junkie. She can't schedule enough getaways, and she lives from one to the next - all the while sticking it to hardworking Americans.'
But the situation sparked further anger after he and his wife elected to fly separately to the Massachusetts retreat - despite travelling on the same day.

Mr Obama left the White House aboard Marine One on his way to Andrews Air Force base to hitch a lift aboard Air Force One - along with First Dog Bo.

After landing at Cape Cod Coast Guard Air Station, he then took a final helicopter to his holiday destination to complete the remarkable 500-mile journey.

His wife and daughters, who arrived just four hours earlier, were also travelling from Washington, but took a specially designed military aircraft.

They would also have had their own motorcade from the airport to the vacation residence.

Disgusting. This woman is lavishing on herself at a time when she and her husband want all the rest of us to engage in "shared sacrifice?" Child, please!

Of course, with her propensity for the expensive booze and the 'massages', maybe this is more appropro:

Paul Krugman Has Read and Watched the Watchmen Too Many Times

I am a fan of comics, and the Watchmen was a very important, groundbreaking graphic novel, but to base http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifeconomic policy off of it? Seriously? But that is exactly what Paul Krugman has done. He is saying that the government should fake a space invasion so as to create a crisis to drive a defense buildup. Daniel Mitchell calls the Nobel Nincompoop out on this stupidity:
Paul Krugman recently argued that a fake threat from space aliens would be good for the economy because the people of earth would waste a bunch of money building unnecessary defenses.

That was a bit loopy, as I noted a few days ago, but other Keynesians also have been making really weird assertions. Obama’s Secretary of Agriculture (another department that shouldn’t exist) just said that food stamps are a great form of stimulus (video at the link, for those who think this can’t possibly be true).

Makes me wonder if they’re having some sort of secret contest for who can say the strangest thing on TV. And if that’s the case, Nancy Pelosi has to be in the running for her claim that you create jobs by subsidizing joblessness.

Check out Mitchell's excellent refutation of Keynesian Kookery in this video:

Clueless: White House Says No Double Dip Recession

Have these people not seen the headlines? Have they not looked at the data? Or are they just so delusional and arrogant they think they can convince you with this drivel:
The debt crisis behind him, President Barack Obama challenged his Cabinet on Wednesday to redouble its efforts to strengthen a "weakened" economy and get people back to work. His spokesman, meanwhile, batted away any suggestion the U.S. was headed back into recession.

The president said the economy's weakness was "partly because of things we couldn't control," such as the Japanese earthquake and the debt problems in Europe. And he said the long argument over raising the U.S. debt ceiling also had had a negative effect on the economy.

Obama told his Cabinet to "focus on what matters most to the American people, and that is, how are we going to put people back to work; how are we going to raise their wages; increase their security; how are we going to make sure that they recover fully, as families and as communities, from the worst recession we've had since the Great Depression."

At the same time, Obama's spokesman discounted talk that the economy may be headed back into recession, despite recent concerns of economists.

Press Secretary Jay Carney said there is no question that economic growth and job creation have slowed over the past half year.

But, Carney told a White House briefing, "We do not believe that there is a threat of a double-dip recession."

Of course, maybe there isn't a threat of a double dip because we never got out of the first dip.....hmm....

Debbie WasaMan Wasserman Schultz: She Thinks Things Are Getting Turned Around?!?

This woman is delusional. Debbie WasAManWasserman Shultz, head of the Democrat National Committee, the same woman who correctly said that Obama and the Dems own the economy, is saying things are turning around...economically?

WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT? Here is the story and video:
"Well, we're going to focus on what we know is the number one priorities on Americans ease minds right now, that is creating jobs and continuing to get this economy turned around. If we have to drag the Republicans with us, then we'll do that, but, you know, it's been a whole lot of months, eight months they have controlled the house with no jobs bills coming to the Floor. Hopefully now with this compromise on the debt ceiling behind us, with the opportunity, with the economic to sit down and focus on longer-term deficit reduction that will have some balance and ask some sacrifice for our most fortunate," Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) told MSNBC. Schultz is also the Chairwoman of the DNC.

"We're creating jobs each month in the private sector."

Huh? Say what? Hey moron, trying to repeal obamacare was a jobs bill! Look what has happened since Obamacare. Even his buddy the head of GE is shipping med/tech jobs overseas! And then there are the headlines just from today:
Layoffs at 16 Month High
Unemployment Up in Nearly All US Cities

Does that sound like they are creating jobs? Does it even sound like they are saving jobs? And this doesn't even count the scores of people who have given up! But somehow, in this ignorant *****'s logic, they are creating jobs and turning things around....maybe she means like this:

With where she has to have her head to believe things are turning around, maybe her name should be Debbie WasAManWasserman Shi*z. I'm just sayin.'

HealthCare Strangles Obama, Democrats and The Country Into Higher Taxes

There is no escaping this deficit crisis. This "deal" that BONER and B**ch McConnell allowed to happen does nothing. Even the NY Times says so, as does this article from the Washington Examiner:
One expects House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan, R-Wis., to write, as he does in today’s Wall Street Journal, “We are already seeing evidence that its maze of mandates, dictates, controls and tax hikes will actually push costs even further in the wrong direction.” And it is not that surprising to read National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility co-chairs Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson write, “If we can’t find a way to slow the rapid rise of health care costs, they will drive this country to bankruptcy.” But what is noteworthy is to see The New York Times admit, “Indeed, both the government and its debts will continue to grow faster than the American economy, primarily because the new [debt limt] law does not address federal spending on health care.”

Obamacare has completely trapped the Democrats on fiscal policy. In order to pay for Obamacare’s trillions of dollars in new spending, they had to raise taxes by $500 and raid Medicare by another $500 billion. As a result, all the low-hanging revenue and spending fruit are already gone. As even The Washington Post's Ezra Klein admits, the Democrats must now argue for higher taxes, and not just on the wealthy. In order to pay for all their entitlement programs, the middle class is going to have to pay more, too. But Ezra can admit this because he doesn’t have to win elections; Democrats in public offices do. That is the reason you haven’t seen a Democratic budget since Obamacare became law and it is the reason you will not see another one till at least 2013.

Yes, and thanks to BONER and McConnell, the can has been kicked. The issue has been given cover. And Obama's reelection just got easier. And if that happens, you won't see a budget until 2017. If there is still a government to budget funds for....

Welcome to the Fight Against Obama's Job Killing EPA

It seems more states are starting to realize that Obama's EPA and its continued expansion of regulations and power is going to kill economies and state coffers. In Ohio, we are seeing power companies like Beckjord close down rather than pay the exorbitant fees. Of course, Obama told us he was going to do this, but no one listened:

However, states appear to be waking from ignorance and are now wanting to fight the EPA. PajamasMedia's PJ Tatler has a compendium of stories that show how Obama is destroying the economy state by state:
The fact is, the EPA is chipping away at 26 states and their economies via the cross-state rule and the Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) rule. The MACT rule alone could force enough power plant shutdowns to cost 30 to 70 gigawatts of power (one gigawatt powers about 750.000 homes). Some of the targeted states are starting to wake up to the threat: rate hikes, lost power production leading to outages, lost jobs, worse economies. Here’s a sample of reaction in states beyond the Lone Star.

INDIANA
U.S. consumers, many of whom are struggling just to put food on the table, can little afford to pay substantial hikes for electricity. Every industry depends on electricity. Higher overhead costs mean fewer jobs and higher prices for products. (Not the time for stricter emissions, Lafayette Journal and Courier, July 23, 2011).

The utility industry says the standard will lead to double-digit rate hikes for consumers and will likely require costly upgrades to some power plants. (Effort to curb pollution means power bills will rise, Indianapolis Star, July 30, 2011)

OHIO
Even with 14 million Americans out of work and an economy still searching for light at the end of the tunnel, the EPA is poised to enact a series of back-door mandates that will stifle economic growth. And with the speed that this runaway train is traveling, Ohioans should be scared of the “Train Wreck” headed towards a town near you. (Ken Blackwell: EPA’s Train Wreck Could Leave Ohio in the Dark, Huffington Post, July 23, 2011)

MICHIGAN
Between now and then, DTE will have to shutter 10 coal-burning units, reducing capacity by 20 percent to meet new Environmental Protection Agency regulations on coal plants. Updating the plants to comply with the new EPA standards in the three-year period allowed would be massively expensive. So DTE will take them off line. That will reduce reserves to 6 percent and leave the system vulnerable to blackouts on scorching hot days like the ones we’ve had this month. (EPA raises risk of blackouts, Detroit News, July 31, 2011)

GEORGIA
“Georgia Power said it can’t meet a five-month deadline imposed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to cap and regulate two major pollutants from its coal-fired power plants. … The default could mean customers end up paying more money. … The utility also has said it plans to close two of the four coal-fired units at Plant Branch. Plant McDonough’s two coal units are being converted to three natural gas units, the first of which will start producing power next year.” (Kristi Swartz, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, July 23)

The Obama EPA is doing all of this despite the fact that, in Texas’ case, it has its own clean air program which is at least as effective as the EPA’s, and its emissions don’t even affect other states. The EPA’s own science shows that. And, over the last few decades, power generators nationwide have been reducing emissions on their own as a result of previous regulations.

Over the past several years, additional emissions controls have been introduced into the power generation fleet, which has reduced emissions even further. By 2015, the coal-fired power generation industry will have invested $125 billion in coal utilization technologies that burn coal cleaner and with more efficiency.

Power plant emissions are already down nearly 80 percent since 1970. A coal-fired power facility built today is, on average, 90 percent cleaner than the one it replaces, according to the National Energy Technology Laboratory. Ironically, the ability to build those new plants is next to impossible due to even more stringent EPA regulations.

This president came into office threatening to use the regulatory state to force changes on the US economy in ways that he knew would hurt. We’re in an odd moment, with a government that is intentionally strangling the energy side of the economy and standing in the way of tapping into domestic oil and nuclear sources (while claiming that it cares about jobs). That leaves green, which is the end game for Obama, but green is unreliable, expensive and nowhere near ready to produce anything like the volumes of energy these states need. And if Spain is any hint at the future, green energy is also an open invitation to corruption.

This multi-state EPA assault is intentional and it is a power grab. And it needs to be stopped.

And, with all the heat out there, people are going to die as power rates skyrocket and people cannot afford AC in summer or heat in winter. Well, that will reduce the cost of medicare, as old folks die. Hmmm...maybe that has been the plan all along....It's starting to make sense now...

Seriously, this is an unprecedented assault on state and individual rights, but that has been the crux of all of Obama's agenda. And this is the time and now is the hour. If Boner and Co. in Congress won't fight for our rights, then our states and the leadership in them must fight DC.

Liberals Are Delusional: Think Obama is Not Liberal Enough!

From Commentary:
What happens to an ideologue when the president in whom he invested enormous hope is increasingly seen as a failure? For one answer, see the lead “Talk of the Town” item in The New Yorker, where Hendrik Hertzberg writes this:

Invoking the Fourteenth Amendment has always been a long shot, a last refuge. But Obama’s seeming refusal to hold it in reserve … is emblematic of his all too civilized, all too accommodating negotiating strategy–indeed, of his whole approach to the nation’s larger economic dilemma, the most disappointing aspect of his Presidency. His stimulus package asked for too little and got less. He has allowed deficits and debt to supercede mass unemployment as the emergency of the moment.

What world is this guy living in? Obama has been the most rigid idealogue we have had as president since Woodrow Wilson and FDR. He does not bend. Everything is seen through the prism of statism. This guy hasn't a clue, but the author in commentary sees this psychological disorder for what it is:
Translation: Barack Obama, the most liberal president in generations, hasn’t been liberal enough. His problem hasn’t been profligacy but frugality. During the last two-and-a-half years, as $3.7 trillion has been added to our national debt, it turns out Obama has spent too little. Despite his efforts to slander and misrepresent the proposals of his opponents, Obama turns out to be too civil, too accommodating, too darn decent. And the man Democrats considered their Great Communicator just three years ago is suffering from a “communications problem,” unable to educate the public to the wisdom of post-Herbert Hoover economics.

This is sheer nonsense, of course. But Hertzberg’s comments are instructive. Rather than take into account the economic (and empirical) failure of Obama’s Keynesian approach, those who take a dogmatic, faith-based approach to American politics engage in intellectual contortions in order to try to innoculate their ideology from damage. People like Hertzberg begin from what is, for them, an unassailable proposition: liberalism is right because it is right and so it can never be wrong. And what happens when, by any objective standard, liberal policies fail? The problem is, they weren’t sufficiently liberal.

How does one live in this dream world?
Those whose minds are obdurate and canonical –regardless of the philosophy they hold — don’t need to grapple with inconvenient facts. They have a reflexive response to every set of facts that challenges their worldview: ignore the facts. This doesn’t help one ascertain the truth. But it does avoid the hard work of facing up to the false assumptions on which their intellectual structure rests. Call it the comforting life of an ideological fanatic.

Well, there are still some loonies out there who think Adolf was right, that Marx and Stalin were right...so I guess anything is possible.

Why Do Democrats Want to Kill the Old and Unborn: Al Gore

First it was Barack Obama and Dr. Zeke Emmanuel with the death panels. Well, I guess since his whole global warming cash cow has proved to be a hoax, snake oil salesman and former VP Al Gore thinks women should kill more babies. In fact, maybe we should have birth panels. I mean, it is just a natural extension of what Al is saying here:
“One of the things we could do about it is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize the population, and one of the principle ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women,” Gore said. “You have to have ubiquitous availability of fertility management so women can choose how many children have, the spacing of the children.

“You have to lift child survival rates so that parents feel comfortable having small families and most important — you have to educate girls and empower women,” he said. “And that’s the most powerful leveraging factor, and when that happens, then the population begins to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices.”

Notice how he puts the entire onus on the women. Look out girls, horny Al and Big Bubba Clinton are coming to party and you better know about the abortion pill and all that other stuff because it is up to you, not up to the man at all, but just up to you, and if you get pregnant, then YOU are killing mutha earf. And mutha earf can't stand anymore babies. Maybe we should be limited to just two. Hmm...I have heard this somewhere before. And I know, with all the prenatal testing, if we have a trait we don't like, we can just flush the fetus anyway, right Al? Gee, this is sounding more and more familiar. I wonder if Al was wearing liederhosen while talking about this?

And besides, the overpopulation nonsense has been disproven years ago. The only way we run out of food is through believing the previous hoax of global warming and turning all our food into ethanol.

What is it with the Left? They want to decide when old people should die and whether pre-born people should be delivered? Who died and made them god?

Obama's Big Disaster: Operation Fast and Furious

No, it is not the new Vin Diesel movie. It is one of the biggest scandals the media IS NOT reporting on involving the Obama Administration. It involved letting deadly weapons be sold to Mexican druglords and thugs. ATF agents were forced to sit idle and let guns be sold, and then many of these guns were used in brutal murders and other crimes against both Mexican nationals and US Citizens on both sides of the border. From CSPAN:
The Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) program “Operation Fast and Furious" allowed gun stores near the Mexican border to sell semiautomatic weapons in bulk to "straw purchasers" and then track their journey. Many of the guns were linked to crimes, including the killing of a Border Patrol agent.

Chair of the Committee, Darrell Issa (R-CA),released three emails by ATF officials discussing the program. The committee is investigating who at ATF and the Department of Justice knew and authorized the program.

Rep. Issa and Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released a report on “Operation Fast and Furious," which says border patrol and ATF agents were told to "surveil" weapons and not interdict. It also said agents warned of devastating consequences, including criminal activity, but supervisors ignored their warnings.

At a House hearing on the program Wednesday, ATF Agent John Dodson said, "Every time we questioned that order, there was punitive action."

Dodson told Rep. James Lankford (R-OK) the ATF stopped tracking the weapons once they traveled too far from the border. He said the ATF lost track of 1500 - 1800 weapons.

Issa said the administration ignored committee requests for documents on “Operation Fast and Furious." Issa issued a subpoena on March 31, 2011 to the acting Director of the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATFE) Agency Kenneth Melson to determine what he knew and if he signed off on the program.

This is disturbing. Obama's team thought it would be a great idea to lose track of almost 2000 weapons as a means of law enforcement? Uh, hello? And it appears there has been some lying or concealment to the committee beyond just ignoring subpeonas. From the AP:
"To allow a gun to walk is idiotic," said Forcelli. "This was a catastrophic disaster."

Early this year, Weich, head of Justice's office of legislative affairs, wrote in a letter that ATF makes "every effort to interdict weapons that have been purchased illegally and prevent their transportation into Mexico." Issa asked whether Weich now considers that to be false.

"I'm not prepared to say at this time," replied Weich.

Mr. Weich may have some 'splainin' to do.
