Karl Zinsmeister, author of Boots on the Ground: A Month with the 82nd Airborne in the Battle for Iraq, writes of progress on the ground that he experienced firsthand as an embedded reporter in Iraq. Read about the long list here!!!!
Matt's Chat
We get criticized by some who say we only cover the "good news" and aren't all that "fair and balanced" when it comes to Iraq. Quite frankly, there are plenty of other "sources" for bad news on Iraq and only recently are those same sources beginning to get the idea that there wasn't a whole lot of "fair and balanced" coverage of the good news. Mark and I support the war and the efforts and sacrifices made by our troops (God Bless You All!) to ensure peace and stability in Iraq. When we see something that we don't agree with (the Holy Warrior/Marines Charged in Abuse Case) we say so. The casualties are tragic, we'll say that over and over again; but the positives occuring in Iraq are far greater. I think that the biggest mistake in the campaign thus far is that after the "war" was over, the embedded reporters left. Had they stayed, there might be a different take on the news today.Mark's Remarks
"Pay no attention to the people actually there, listen to drunken maniac Ted Kennedy," say the liberals. Folks, we are getting the truth out, that things in Iraq are not near as bad as the liberals would like us to believe. Liberals tend to want to use the valiant deaths of soldiers as a crutch for their arguments. Well, I hate to be the one to break things to the liberals and the American people, but THIS IS NOT A FRIGGIN VIDEO GAME!!!! Unfortunately, people die in war. Unfortunately, lives are lost. However, we cannot simply turn tail and run everytime we lose someone. It lessens the sacrifices they made in life. Of course, liberals will use anything to their advantage...except the truth. We are building a new world in Iraq. We are building schools, we are helping to establish services, but all that pales to liberals when it comes to power. They have to use anything to regain power. They will try to whittle away at our soldiers' morale, and not care at all who they hurt. They will embolden terrorists with their appeaser arguments, and not care when we get attacked again, because it will make them look like they were right. They will not care that they turn us on our troops in Iraq, like they did in Vietnam. It is shameful what they are doing, but most liberals in the rank and file cannot see it. They have drunk the kool-aid and sold their souls to these vicious, power hungry synchopants in the leadership. How sad it must be, to root for terrorists and the economy to tank, all because you hate one man.
