Time for a Rant from MATT
Ladies and Gentlemen, I ask you...what is up with the Medicare thing? Republicans are putting forth a bill that the AARP actually endorses and the Democrats aren't asking how they are going to pay for it. That is certainly MY question. I'll admit, I don't know a whole lot about this bill, but usually when conservatives put up a big spending opportunity, they tell us how they plan to pay for it. I'm not hearing about that with this one though. And that disturbs me.
Now, I do believe that the Bush administration has done a lot to improve the economic situation here at home, but I am really having a hard time understanding why the administration would support tariffs. Capitalism, free trade, and competition is what makes this country great. Maybe I'm missing something that you, dear readers, can clue me in on...
Lastly, what the heck is going on in Congress? You don't schedule 30 hours of debate on filibustering judicial nominees before a filibuster occurs. You make them go through with it and then you make them look silly. Senate Republicans put the cart before the horse on that one. While we're discussing the Senate, why hasn't the Internet Tax Ban been made permenant law yet?
