WMD Referred to on Discount Blogger
NEANDERTHAL JUDGES
Ugh.
You know? It's hard enough to be a conservative without having to deal with loud-mouthed knee-jerk conservatives. The latest is Ted Kennedy's referring to Bush's judicial nominees as Neanderthals. And, of course, it didn't take long for the condemnation to explode in both the media and in the blogosphere. The loud-mouthed, knee-jerk conservatives I refer to are those that write for rags like NewsMax. But if you want a small sample of what's happening in the blogosphere, check here, and here, and here, and here. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
A number of links were put up for "check here, and here, and here, and here. Yadda, yadda, yadda." A link to WMD was one of the links.

Here is what my colleague on Weapons of Mass Discussion said, "The Outrageous thing is that the Democrats do not bat an eye at his language, and rush to defend him...if it were Trent Lott saying the same things, or Pat Roberts, then by God he must be censured or forced to resign......There is a vast double standard, and it is sheer hypocrisy for liberals not to admit to it. Senator Kennedy continues to bring shame and ridicule on the Kennedy name, and on the legacy of his two brothers, who, it should be noted, did have affairs but did not kill anyone and try to cover it up."
The issue that Mark (from WMD) was trying to make was that the Democrats seem to have a problem coming out and condemning this kind of speech when it comes from one of their own. It is a double-standard. And I see nothing "knee-jerk" about pointing that out.
I'll agree, no one but Mr. Kennedy and God know for sure what Mr. Kennedy's viewpoint on race is. But Mr. Kennedy should realize that he is supposed to be setting the standard for political discourse. Referring to ANYBODY as a neanderthal is unacceptable rhetoric from a "respected" senator.
I appreciate the traffic though... : ) Thanks for reading.

Am I crazy or did I make Mark's point?
UPDATE: Michael Comes Clean...
Referring to an earlier post, it has been interpreted by some that I meant to call bloggers like Jay Caruso, Miniluv, the folks at NRO, etc "Loudmouthed Conservatives"
In fact, I thought I made it clear that I was referring to NewsMax as being of that strain. I apologize to any bloggers who took my post in a way that it was not intended. I have a great deal of respect for many of these people, and would never intentionally refer to them as such. I read their sites daily because I believe, for the most part, that they are fair and interesting.
On the other hand, I have little respect for NewsMax, and have no problem calling them Loudmouthed anything.
Thanks for the clarification, Michael! We appreciate your candor and thank you for your attention.
