Dean Unwilling to Say Osama is GUILTY (!)

The Monitor asked: Where should Osama bin Laden be tried if he's caught? Dean said he didn't think it made any difference, and if he were president he would consult with his lawyers for advice on the subject.

But wouldn't most Americans feel strongly that bin Laden should be tried in America - and put to death?

"I've resisted pronouncing a sentence before guilt is found," Dean said. "I still have this old-fashioned notion that even with people like Osama, who is very likely to be found guilty, we should do our best not to, in positions of executive power, not to prejudge jury trials. So I'm sure that is the correct sentiment of most Americans, but I do think if you're running for president, or if you are president, it's best to say that the full range of penalties should be available. But it's not so great to prejudge the judicial system."

Matt's Chat

Come on, Howeird...get with the program. Osama is guilty. Even YOU can't come up with a conspracy theory that would place responsibility for the 9/11 attacks on anybody else. Although I'm sure your Dimocratic cronies will try to pin it on a CIA operation funded by Haliburton and organized by the Bush administration. Mr. Dean, those black helicopters ARE after you...be afraid...

Mark's Remarks

OK, we have the personal effects of the terrorists with documentation from al-Queda...we have UBL on more than one video claiming credit for the terrible event. What more does this idiot want? Yes, I called him an idiot. To make the friggin statement he just made about UBL not being guilty qualifies him as an idiot? What next? Ariel Sharon and George W. Bush controlled the planes by remote control?!? This man is a menace, and he represents all that is wrong with the Dimocratic Party. Do you want a leader who will not call a spade a spade? Come on. This man comes out and says he thinks the President was warned, to implicate some type of conspiracy. Then, he says UBL is not guilty, that he is waiting for more evidence? What more does he need? An oath of honesty from this madman? Howeird Dean is a menace, and he is a terrible example of the liberal hamster, who spent too much time spinning his little wheel of stupidity and propaganda and finally went insane. He cannot be sane, to make such a statement and to actually believe it. It is an insult to our men and women fighting to look for UBL, and it is an insult to the survivors of 9/11. Mr. Dean, you are a disgrace....
