Big News the Liberal Media Hasn't Covered: Halliburton Cleared of Wrongdoing

A senior US army officer has cleared the American engineering company Halliburton of any wrongdoing in relation to a contract to deliver fuel from Kuwait to Iraq, according to a newspaper report.
Read the story from the BBC (not exactly the most Bush friendly source) here.

Mark's Remarks

Hey, why isn't this a big story? A major corporation has been cleared of wrongdoing. Could there be a double standard? Hmmm...according to folks I know who read the NY Times, this story was buried in the 20s. Gosh, could they not want you to see that all their conspiracy rants were wrong? Surely not, I mean, this paper has journalistic ethics (but please ignore Jason Blair and the other writer who made up stories).

This brings me to another issue. This whole thing has been portrayed as a cover-up. Who in the blue hell broke the story? Answer-Donald Rumsfeld, he made the charges. If there were chicanery, why would Rumsfeld, a Bush friend and a Cheney friend for years, why would he rat on his "big oil, neo con" buddies?

Answer: It was not a coverup. It was an honest investigation. You know, this used to happen all the time in the Reagan administration. Cap Weinberger, Reagan's Sec. of Defense used to say this about the press. They would whine about a 500 dollar toilet seat, but who revealed this misspent money? Yep, Cap Weinberger, yet the Reagan admin was never given credit for troubleshooting overspending. Just like the Bush admin has received no credit for raising questions about itself. Hey, I guess it is not self policing if you don't have to keep the President chained down when interns come into the Oval Office.
