Politicizing Intelligence and 9/11

From My Way News (AP):
The Clinton and Bush administrations' failure to pursue military action against al-Qaida operatives allowed the Sept. 11 terrorists to elude capture despite warning signs years before the attacks, a federal panel said Tuesday.

The Clinton administration had early indications of terrorist links to Osama bin Laden and future Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed as early as 1995, but let years pass as it pursued criminal indictments and diplomatic solutions to subduing them abroad, it found.

Bush officials, meanwhile, failed to act immediately on increasing intelligence chatter and urgent warnings in early 2001 by its counterterrorism adviser, Richard A. Clarke, to take out al-Qaida targets, according to preliminary findings by the commission reviewing the attacks.

Matt's Chat

Look folks, Clinton blew it. Bush blew it. The CIA blew it. The FBI blew it. Our entire government blew it. The 9-11 Commission is politicizing a national tragedy and intelligence. What this commission should be looking at is the identification of ways, means, and methods to improve the situation not place blame. Playing the Blame Game (tm) is not getting anybody anywhere and it is really starting to tick me off...

FIX IT!!! DON'T POLITICIZE IT.

That is all...

Mark's Remarks

Matt, I agree with your conclusion, but I have some disagreements with your other statements. What galls me is that this commission and the Clintonistas are doing their best to attempt to rewrite history and lie to the American people and future generations! Clinton, it is documented and supported by on the record statements, had four opportunities to get bin Laden and turned them down. Clinton knew since 1993 that UBL was as threat, and did little but empty threats. He allowed terrorists to grow strong by emboldening them by not responding to the Cole attacks, the Somalia massacre, the First WTC bombings, the embassy bombings, and other thwarted attacks. He did little to nothing. Now he is trying to sound like he was Churchill warning the world of Hitler. That is a baldfaced lie. Clinton fumbled the ball, along with intellgence services, which, BY THE WAY, WERE GUTTED BY CLINTON. They are trying to change history, and we must not let them. Yes, we must find answers, and that is the most important, to find solutions. But we cannot let them get away with trying to politicize this into a failing of the Bush administration. Clinton, Albright, Warren Christopher, Bill Cohen, and Dickie Clarke were all culpable in this, and all brought to a head the 9/11 catastrophe. While Bush is not totally innocent, he was not the main reason al Queda was never stopped. That resides with William Jefferson Clinton and his cronies who time after time REFUSED TO GO AFTER BIN LADEN.

And another thing: think of this. Bush comes in after a controversial election. If he would have said, hey let's get this bin Laden and invade Afghanistan, do you really think Congress, especially this Dimcraps, would have gone with him? Hell no. They would be whining about how we needed more data, how the threats against us were made all the time and why should we set aside al queda, why should we risk American lives. That is what it would have been like. Don't be fooled by the libs and dims. They are only out to destroy Bush, not find answers and solutions. It is a shame that this commission is not investigating further, as the opening statements by Mr. Mike Hurley of the Commission today indicated to me they are not looking at the Monsoor Ijaz evidence of Clinton's negligence, despite it being on the record, despite it being factual. That is shameful and it should be addressed. But, libs and apparently this commission are out to blame everyone, not find solutions, especially if they are named Bush. Don't buy it. The history is clear. Clinton's irresponsibility was the chief factor in bringing to a crescendo the tragedy that was 9/11. If we would have taken any of Sudan's FOUR offers, bin Laden would be rotting in prison. IF we would have gone in when we had the chance, as was presented to Clinton (he had his staff refused to go in), then al Queda would be in shambles and a nonfactor, and 9/11 would have been prevented. Nuff said.
