Putting the Brakes on 30 Years of Environmental Progress...

From ABCNews:
President Bush, trying to shore up his environmental record against attacks by Democratic rival John Kerry, is celebrating Earth Day by highlighting efforts to shore up wetlands at a Maine nature reserve.

Bush will talk Thursday about "how much environmental progress the country has made since the first Earth Day 30 years ago," White House spokesman Trent Duffy said Wednesday. "Our air is cleaner, our water is cleaner and our land is better protected."

Kerry says Bush's industry-backed policies are contributing to more air and water pollution. "In three short years, this president has put the brakes on 30 years of environmental progress," said Kerry, who is spending Earth Day in Houston.

Matt's Chat

Uh-huh...maybe the Kerry team should read WMD and Mahatma for the Truth.

We've gone down this road before folks: the economy, AWOL, terrorism, Iraq, etc. Kerry is going for soundbite politics and the President is playing him like the political virtuoso that he is.

Mark's Remarks

Man, Johnny Waffles is now just going with out and out lies....Tell me, Mr. Kerry, did you inform the foks you spoke to in Lousiana Thursday (after telling them that the areas around New Orleans reminded him of Vietnam, the MeKong Delta) that it is IN FACT YOU and your cronies on the Left who are holding up funding to prevent the seashore erosion that threatens Lousiana? Did you, Johnny Boy? Nope, didn't think so.
