From an editorial on the Opinion Page:
Seems like just a month or so ago he was in the headlines all the time. Then it was as though he disappeared. If he wasn't actually in your state campaigning, you never heard his name except in commercials paid for by President George W. Bush.

Those ads paint Sen. Kerry as against a strong military and against protecting the troops. This is nonsense. The senator supported the Clinton-era decisions that produced the military machine that triumphed so easily in the Iraq war proper (back when military power was what was needed).
