Iraq Update

From Yahoo! News:
Nine major political parties agreed Monday to disband their militias, the interim prime minister said, although radical cleric Muqtada al-Sadr's fighters did not join the agreement.

From Yahoo! News:
Iraq is to restore the death penalty after the return of sovereignty later this month, in a measure which could affect ousted president Saddam Hussein, justice minister Malik Dohan al-Hassan said.

"The death penalty is suspended in Iraq but with the return of sovereignty, nothing obliges us to maintain this suspension. We want to reinstitute it for very specific cases," he told AFP.

Matt's Chat

Another friendly reminder that we are indeed STILL WINNING! I wonder who that death penalty is going to be for? I predict a hanging for the Butcher of Baghdad...

Mark's Remarks

Even that would be too gentle of a punishment for this demented madman....Of course, he has a far worse fate awaiting him after his trial and punishment....
