African-Americans Unsure About Kerry

From US Newswire:
In a national poll of African American registered voters commissioned by Black America's Political Action Committee (BAMPAC), less than one in three (32 percent) African Americans stated that they definitely believed that Sen. John Kerry was the best candidate to replace President Bush. The poll was conducted June 30th to July 4th among 800 African American registered voters via phone by Wilson Research Strategies.

Twenty-one percent (21 percent) of African Americans stated that they probably believe that Sen. Kerry is the best candidate to replace President Bush. A total of 32 percent of African Americans stated they would have preferred someone other than Sen. Kerry to replace President Bush (18 percent stated they would probably have preferred someone other than Kerry to replace President Bush; 14 percent said that they would have definitely preferred someone other than Kerry to replace President Bush).

Matt's Chat

These numbers don't look too good for Kerry/Edwards. They aren't exactly glowing for Bush/Cheney either, but it certainly means that the GOP message to the black community is being received.

Mark's Remarks

Where are Kerry's advisors who are people of color? Where are the people of color in the Dem Leadership? Where were the people of color who were leaders in Clinton's administration? Hmmm...Very interesting, especially since Billyboy considered himself the first black president (what an ignorant and hateful thing to say!). Facts are this:

Republicans have a greater history of voting for African American issues and causes than Democrats..to wit:

The Emancipation Proclamation was signed by a Republican

The first Civil Rights Acts in the 1860s were put forth by Republicans

The Civil Rights Acts of the 1960s could only be passed with the support of Republicans--Democrats voted against their own President in trying to foil these laws

The first black secretary of state and NSA were nominated by Republicans....

Hmmm...very interesting....Looking at this study, maybe people are starting to realize the plantation isn't so good after all, and modern day Underground Conductors like Bill Cosby are starting to get the word out that there is something better than government subsidy and welfare dependence.

John Kerry Delenda Est!
