Kerry/Edwards: And the Pandering Begins...

From US Newswire:
The Kerry-Edwards campaign today announced a $2 million buy on African American media through the Democratic convention -- an unprecedented commitment this early in a presidential campaign. The buy, beginning today with television, radio and print ads, highlights Kerry's values and his commitment to building an America that is stronger at home and respected in the world. The ads will run in battleground states as well as major cities in other states.
These ads will not address the fact that Kerry/Edwards has no African-Americans in prominent roles in their campaign at all.
"This unprecedented ad buy shows the commitment of the Kerry-Edwards campaign to ensuring that African American families and communities are a key part of our groundbreaking campaign to win back the White House," said Kerry-Edwards Campaign Manager Mary Beth Cahill. "Our campaign is built on the foundation that building a stronger America means creating opportunity for all Americans. With this new ad campaign we are moving aggressively to take this message of hope, optimism, and inclusion to African American families and communities across the country."
This unprecedented ad buy shows that Kerry/Edwards is willing to pander and buy votes if neccessary. What does John Kerry know about building a stronger America or creating opportunity for Americans? He married his opportuntiy. Twice. And he served in VIETNAM too... This new ad campaign is nothing more than pandering. What was that about deeds and actions backing up values?
Today's ads show John Kerry as a man who throughout his life has defended working people and fought to ensure that all Americans can reach their dreams. The ads underscore John Kerry's plan to expand access to affordable health care, build an economy that works for all Americans by creating good jobs, and strengthen our schools so that all of our children have a chance to get a quality education.
Today's ads will not show John Kerry as the tax loving uber-liberal that he is... The ads will not underscore that the reality of a Kerry administration is that American families (including African American ones) will have less money for healthcare, an anti-business economy (how's that gonna work?), and questionable access to quality education (vouchers anyone?).

Mary Beth is making this stuff too easy...
