From My Way News:
The exuberant cross-country campaign dash by Democrats John Kerry and John Edwards in recent days may have suggested they were riding a "bounce" in the polls after Edwards was chosen for the vice presidential slot.
"You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see a number of things," Kerry said Sunday on CBS'"60 Minutes.""One is that we like each other. Two is that we're having a great time on the campaign trail. And three is that we're good for each other."
But actually, very little has changed in the very close race between Kerry and President Bush.
Kerry strategists are trying to lower expectations for a quick gain in the polls that presidential candidates sometimes get after choosing a running mate or being nominated at their party's convention.

This ticket is going nowhere... I think Matthew Dowd was setting up the Dems for a bigger perceived failure when he said that Kerry/Edwards should get a 12 - 15 point jump. Let's see what happens during/after the convention, but I'm not anticpating a big bounce from that either.Noon Update
NRO's Rich Lowery has an interesting take.Mark's Remarks
John Kerry and Edwards would have you believe they have already won. Kerry thinks he is President already, or at least that is what his plane and website say.
The arrogance of these people to think that the election will merely be a coronation.
Edwards is a trial lawyer, a schyster who merely practiced law to make quick bucks, raising your insurance premiums, raising the cost of products whose manufacturers he sued. He will not support the necessary reforms in tort cases to get costs down, because his buddies and biggest contributors in the trial lawyers' association would turn on him.
And the idea that these two like each other and get along is preposterous. Go back and read some of what Kerry and Edwards were saying about each other. I wouldn't even call their barbs highly civil, much less endearing.
These two are merely about image, short on substance. They spout ideas that have no idea how to pay for, other than raising your taxes, and they have no idea the implications and far reaching consequences of their dubious and often unclear plans.
They are not the people for the world we live in...nuff said.
