Immigration Madness

By Matt Hurley for the TIB Network:

From the Arizona Daily Star:
The federal government is offering $1 billion to hospitals that provide emergency care to undocumented immigrants.

But to get the money, hospitals would have to ask patients about their immigration status, a prospect that alarms hospitals and advocates for immigrants.

The health-care money will be made available in four annual installments of $250 million, for services provided on or after Oct. 1.
This is a great idea. The illegals still get the medical attention they need in an emergency, the hospitals get the funding they need to provide the care, and the government gets a clue about where the illegals are...this is mostly a win/win situation. The downside, of course, is that the illegals will not seek medical attention when they need it.
