Terror in the Skies?

If it happens again, which of these guys will accept responsibility?

Source:
Federal air marshals have slept on the job, tested positive for alcohol or drugs while on duty, lost their weapons and falsified information, the Homeland Security Department's inspector general said Monday in a scathing report on the air marshals program.

The government logged 753 incidents of misconduct by air marshals during an eight-month period in 2002, according to the report. The report criticizes the undercover program as being too lenient on officers involved in misconduct. Most were placed on leave with pay after the incidents.

"In many cases, air marshals were placed on administrative leave for extended periods of time," the report said. "In similar cases, a screener (security checkpoint worker) would have been placed on leave without pay or dismissed."

Matt's Chat

This is a disgrace. And they have the gall to discount/belittle Anne Jacobsen? These guys need to get it together, they are the first line of defense. I am amazed that this kind of nonsense is still going on with our security.

Mark's Remarks

More reason why Anne Jacobsen was right to speak out. However, I am not surprised this is going on. With every decision down to what underwear to wear being castigated by the Left, many are too busy defending their own existence to do the job of oversight. But, that is the Left for you--nothing, not even making sure we have proper air marshalls, is to take away from regaining power. They will endanger American lives if it gets them power, as they are doing by distracting America from looking at issues like this with charges about the President and his staff, taking valuable time away from the real issue of getting us secure. And they say conservatives are calloused and closeminded!
