"Neither George Bush nor Dick Cheney has ever heard a shot fired in anger. Never worried whether he'd ever see his family again or seen the destruction caused by the weapons he's wielded."This is an outrage. Gen. Clark seems to think that serving in the Texas Air National Guard wasn't at all dangerous. Granted it isn't fighting a war in the jungles of VIETNAM!, but flying jets isn't a walk in the park, General. How many guys lost their lives in the Air National Guard?
-- Gen. Wesley Clark (Ret.) 8/12/04
Can we please talk about the Global War on Terror and leave VIETNAM! alone? Please??? And no, Terry McAwful, I don't think Bush/Cheney is running from John Kerry's chestful of medals from a war that we lost thirty years ago because of the politics of guys like John F. Kerry. Get over yourselves already.
The Kerry/Edwards campaign brought all this upon themselves by making VIETNAM! the center of their entire campaign. And rather than deal with the allegations, that appear to be true, of the Swift Boat Veterans of Truth, the campaign has decided to try to smear these heroes who served their country honorably and sic the lawyers on those who would give them their chance to speak.
I'm disgusted with these clowns. All of them.

These guys are political partisans too:"We are deeply disappointed by the tone and tenor of President Bush and Vice President Cheney's personal attacks on John Kerry, a decorated combat veteran who served his country with courage and honor. John Kerry is talking about his plan to address the most pressing issues facing our nation -- jobs, the economy, health care, the war on terror, the war in Iraq. George Bush and Dick Cheney have chosen take their campaign to the gutter. We call on President Bush and Vice President Cheney to stop the irresponsible personal attacks and tell us where they want to take the country. Tell us how they plan to win the peace in Iraq. Tell us how they plan to get us back on track with the war on terror. Tell us where they plan to lead the country. The American people and our troops deserve better."Since we're talking about releasing plans, gentlemen, when will John Kerry tell us about how he plans to pay for all his promises?

There was no "attack," personal or otherwise, by Vice President Cheney or President Bush today or any other day. John F. Kerry said something stupid; he has to live with that. The more these clowns (Kerry/Edwards) keep focusing attention on it by fighting it, the more amateurish they look.
These lies are not appropriate and not appreciated.
