With this question at 9:16 pm, Kerry diverted from the topic (liberals are famous for that) and got into domestic policy agendas. The man bloviates and deviates from the question again and again....How are you going to do it in four years, Senator?
Bush: How are you going to pay for these promises? But that is for another debate (someone got the memo on the subject). Bush discusses what he is doing. 3.1 billion dollars spent. Doing our part to provide funding. Best thing to do in war is stay on offense. We have to be right 100% of time, enemy has to be right only once to hurt us. Changing culture of FBI, communicating better, reforming intel, the Patriot Act is vital.
Bush rattles off his accomplishments while Kerry makes snide little faces.
Lehrer bashes the rules again and let's Kerry have a new rebuttal. He talks about 10,000 hours of tape, then he goes back to the tax cut (ISN'T THIS DEBATE ABOUT, I DON'T KNOW, FOREIGN FREAKIN POLICY AND HOMELAND DEFENSE?)
Bush hammers the point home...literally.
