Bush's question is "since there were no WMD, how can we go into Iraq and justify it?" Wow, a lot less soft than "are you wishywashy" isn't it?
Bush says that 9/11 changed it all. 9/11 changed things. Bush reiterates the doctrine. Makes the case for going at Iraq. Says Kerry thought he had WMD as well. Says Saddam could have given tech to terror. Bush mentions Saddam was using Oil for Food to get rid of sanctions. He wanted to restart weapons programs. We all thought there were weapons. My opponent said so. Saddam was a unique threat, and world is better without him in power. My opponent's plans would leave Saddam in power and world would be dangerous.
Kerry: the world IS more dangerous today, because President didn't make right judgements. I didn't change my mind. Kerry goes into job issue and health care. What about the friggin question?????? Hello, stay on topic. Quit evading. "I've never changed my mind about Iraq." "I would have used that force wisely....would have brought allies to side....would have made sure troops had everything.....(but what about not voting for 87 billion?)....
Bush: America must pass global test...that is kind of mindset that says sanctions were working, let's keep it up to UN and hope things go well....sanctions were not working, the UN was not effective....
Kerry: the goal of sanctions was not to remove Saddam, but to remove WMD. Sanctions worked. That was objective. HELLO, Johnny boy! War on terror involves Iraq, dude!
