Saturday: "Hannitize the Vote"
The weather was very cooperative. The crowd was large. The speakers were stellar.Bill "Willie" Cunningham dropped by and got everybody fired up right. He hammered John Kerry and his leftist goon friends pretty hard. Basically, it was just a taste of his daily radio show on WLW.
Neal Boortz, another radio guy, told us why he calls John Kerry "The Poodle." (Paraphrase) Well, poodles are French. And little dogs are pets. Basically, John Kerry is a rich woman's pet dog.(/Paraphrase) Now that's just classic.
Genuine hero, Oliver "Ollie" North, told us a few stories from our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. Outstandingly inspirational and very informative.
President Reagan's Secretary of Education Bill Bennett (currently another radio guy), usually is infomative but not overly entertaining. On Saturday, Mr. Bennett was engaging and fun.
Sean Hannity, whom Mark and I have seen before, lived up to his reputation for being a motivator. Remarkable stage presence and an all-around smart guy.
Sunday: President Bush @ Great American
The gates opened at 1pm. We got there about the 3pm. The crowd built up throughout the day. We watched the Bengals lose on the big screen and listened to a number of local politicans running in this election cycle. (Congressman Rob Portman spoke at both events and was outstanding as always.)A bit about the moonbats: Apparently the Kerry/Edwards folks scheduled a rally on Fountain Square that afternoon. The highlight was the protestors dressed up in sheets with a sign saying "Iraqi Civilian Casualty." I saw a guy with a sign saying "Iraq-Nam" whatever that was supposed to mean. This is the extent of their argument. No subtance but plenty of theatrics. It was worth a chuckle or two, but America isn't interested in theatrics at this critical time in our history.
Marty "Poofy Haired Fancy Boy" Brennamen, the Voice of the Reds, was our emcee for the day. We also heard from Catcher Jason LaRue and Hall of Fame Catcher Johnny Bench introduced the President.
There is nothing quite like being in the presence of the President. Nothing. He is warm and genuine. I've heard the speech before, so I spent more time watching the crowd this time. America knows that this President has done what he had to do in order to protect us after 9/11. America knows that this President will do whatever it takes to win the war on terror. America loves this President and this President loves America. Truly, an inspiration...
