President Bush asked Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who directed American military forces in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, to remain at the Pentagon and he agreed to stay, a senior administration official said today.I wasn't expecting Rummy to go anywhere...especially once Rice was given State.
Bush and Rumsfeld decided on the secretary's future during an Oval Office meeting. Whether or not Rumsfeld remained had been the last big question mark about Bush's Cabinet for his second term.
Mark's Remarks
Now, this will be challenged on the Hill. TeddyBoy will belch and slurp some charges about prison abuse and Halliburton!(tm), but I believe Rummy is the right man for the job. He has done a brilliant job despite severe opposition from the radical Left. He had a huge task of reinventing our military after the Clinton/Gore raping and pillaging of the defense department.
Besides, I just love the way he treats the lefty press like the cockroaches they are....and you can quote me on that.
