Rumsfeld.China has the very real possibility of being the next Islamofascist threat. No, I don't mean that the Chinese are becoming Islamofascists, I mean they could be the next big threat on the horizon that isn't being given sufficient attention due to the current threat. Islamofascism grew during the Cold War (World War III) and have now become the main threat to Western civilization (War on Terror is World War IV). Could China be World War V? We already know which side France is on...
"China is building strategic relationships along the sea lanes from the Middle East to the South China Sea in ways that suggest defensive and offensive positioning to protect China's energy interests, but also to serve broad security objectives," said the report sponsored by the director, Net Assessment, who heads Mr. Rumsfeld's office on future-oriented strategies.
The Washington Times obtained a copy of the report, titled "Energy Futures in Asia," which was produced by defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton.
The internal report stated that China is adopting a "string of pearls" strategy of bases and diplomatic ties stretching from the Middle East to southern China that includes a new naval base under construction at the Pakistani port of Gwadar.

And just think, our FORMER President gave them oh-so-much access to our military and satellite and missile technology...Gee, I guess the Chinese threat is just another part of that legacy Slick Willie was so concerned with "protecting..." Some legacy...
China has been a threat for a long time. I never believed their attempts at modernization, especially as reports are coming in of persecution of Westerners and anti-Capitalists more and more. I have talked to people in Hong Kong and even that lost isle of capitalism in the sea of Communism is feeling the dark curtain descend. China is no ally, to be sure. I do not trust them in their talks with the North Koreans, and we know some of their nuke tech came from AQ Khan...who's to say they aren't selling weapons to Iran or other hostile actors?
