Getting to work this morning was abysmal. The clueless tourist crowds in the Metro were easily identifiable by their thick accents, their directionlessness, their blocking of every train car door, and their carrying of illegal breakfast items on a train system for which locals would receive a fine and a browbeating. They carried bags with Bush logos, wore furs and jeans and cowboy boots, and didn't seem to understand that this was not a day of celebration for everyone on their train. As I rode the outbound train toward Alexandria, I was relieved to be rid of their throng. —Craig, Vienna, Va.Here, let me buy you a clue Craig...it ain't about you. Step away from your narcissistic ego and accept the facts. You didn't feel like celebrating? Fine. Getting pissy about people who do? Dumb. Your rights end where mine begin, Craig. That means I don't have to give a fig whether or not you feel like celebrating. That's the beauty of this great country. The sooner people like you realize that, the better off we'll all be...and it is the people like you, Craig, who have to want unity, harmony, and a verse of Kumbaya with your Republican friends.

Craig, let me correct you...Regardless of party, inauguration day IS a day of celebration!!! It is a day of celebration of the peaceful transition of power in a nation forged on notions of freedom. Of course, you wouldn't understand, Craig. In your world, the nanny state would dictate what we are to do.
And, your elitist view of people who dress and sound different from you sounds just like the comments made by people like Robert Byrd in the late 1940s and 50s in regards to black people, or as some people felt about the Irish at the turn of the century. Very closeminded and not at all tolerant. Of course, the Liberal idea of tolerance is only for Republicans to ACCEPT (not tolerate) things they disagree with. Liberals, on the other hand, can be classist and elitist and call it satire or humor. I don't hardly think so.
