Annan Wants Treaty that Outlaws Terrorism

From Kentucky.com (AP):
U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan called Thursday for a world treaty on terrorism that would outlaw attacks targeting civilians and establish a framework for a collective response to the global threat.
Yeah, a treaty! That ought to do it! What would we do without the UN and Kofi???

Doug's Dialogue

A treaty with terrorists? That's brilliant! What Mr. Annan fails to realize is that these terrorists do not represent a government that would be able to sign and authorize this treaty. So it would be pointless, not that the terrorists would actually sit down to the table and negotiate, nor would the countries like the US and Great Brittain ever be seen negotiating with terrorists.

What is Mr. Annan smoking?

Mark's Remarks

Careful, Doug, invoking the illogic of such a treaty will get you labelled as having an anti-UN agenda....

Koffi still doesn't get it. Saddam didn't listen to the UN, or maybe he listened to the money but not the treaty....Quaddafi didnt listen to the UN, and don't even get me started on Iran or North Korea. Making deals with madmen only highlights the UN's own insanity....not to mention ineptitude....and ignorance...and irrelevancy....
