The Future of Blogs and Politics

By Matt for the TIB Network:

Sounds like it is about time bloggers on both sides of the aisle raise a little Cain about this. I'd be curious to hear PK's Media, Technology and Society angle on this one...

My view: McCain-Feingold was horrible legislation that has done more damage to the political process than anyone ever imagined... I'm a free speech kind of guy... Your mileage may vary...

Insta-Update

As I was posting this, I switched over to the WMD Mailbag and our correspondent had sent me a link to this story as well. Yeah, this is the kind of story I'm interested in...

1:30PM Update

It occurs to me that a really, really important document that seems to be getting trampled on lately has some very important words that would apply here:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Emphasis added.

No law. Sounds pretty self explanatory, but you might want to give Sens. McCain and Feingold a refresher course...

2:30PM Update

Michelle Malkin has a nice link-filled round-up.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... Attention federal government, keep your grubby hands off my cable AND my Internet.

Islamofascism Delenda Est!
