"Eleven states now grant driver's licenses to noncitizens who do not have visas." How stupid can a state be? Pretty stupid, which is why the new provisions of an appropriations bill will mandate that applicants for drivers' license be in the country legally. The same bill will mandate completion of the U.S.-Mexico border fence in San Diego County, which has a three mile gap in it because of concerns over the endangered least bell's vireo. These are the sort of common-sense border security steps that are long overdue. Now the Congress should get busy with the most common-sense step of all --extending the barrier across the entire southern border and making it easily patrolled.Which sounds suspiciously like "Mr. President, BUILD THAT WALL!"
