Hollywood Decline Continues

From the New York Times:
Now Hollywood is starting to get worried.

The poor box-office performance last weekend of the first major film of the summer, "Kingdom of Heaven," released by 20th Century Fox, made for 11 weeks in a row of declining movie attendance and revenue compared with last year, adding up to the longest slump since 2000 and raising an uncomfortable question: Are people turning away from lackluster movies, or turning their backs on the whole business of going to theaters?
In a word, YES! Not only do the movies suck, they aren't original...just how many remakes are we to endure before Hollywood realizes that the people want something they haven't seen before? And don't get me started on the 30 minutes of commercials one must endure AFTER you bought your ticket...

Like Major League Baseball, the problem with Hollywood is the salaries of the players. You want to keep delivering a high quality product...which is expensive...but you are paying people way more than what they are actually worth.
