9/11 and Saddam

Some people just don't listen.

Just because the president says that we shouldn't forget the lessons of 9/11 doesn't mean he is advocating a position wherein Saddam was somehow involved with the planning and/or execution of 9/11.

Let me spell it out for these idiots: The global war on terror is NOT and never has been solely about al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, or Afghanistan. It is about an ideology - Islamofascism - and those who use Islamofascism for their own gains.

If you are one of those people who think Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with terrorism, it is time you pull your head out of the sand. If you don't trust me, how about the Council on Foreign Relations?
Has Iraq sponsored terrorism?

Yes. Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship provided headquarters, operating bases, training camps, and other support to terrorist groups fighting the governments of neighboring Turkey and Iran, as well as to hard-line Palestinian groups. During the 1991 Gulf War, Saddam commissioned several failed terrorist attacks on U.S. facilities. The State Department lists Iraq as a state sponsor of terrorism. The question of Iraq’s link to terrorism grew more urgent with Saddam’s suspected determination to develop weapons of mass destruction, which Bush administration officials feared he might share with terrorists who could launch devastating attacks against the United States.
Saddam Hussein fit the profile of who the enemy is under the Bush Doctrine. We must not allow any nation to harbor terrorists nor employ them for their own purposes. Not anymore. Never again.

Was that not the lesson of 9/11?

SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE!
