Durbin Unhinged

This story was the all the rage yesterday...

Sen. Durbin, (D - naturally) accused the military of being Nazis, Soviets, and Pol Pot all in one speech!
"If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime _ Pol Pot or others _ that had no concern for human beings," Durbin said.
Today's story is that Durbin refuses to apologize.
This administration should apologize to the American people for abandoning the Geneva Conventions and authorizing torture techniques that put our troops at risk and make Americans less secure," Durbin said in a statement Wednesday evening.
Let's review: Standing for prolonged periods; TORTURE! Isolation for as long as 30 days; TORTURE! Removal of clothing; TORTURE! Forced shaving of facial hair; TORTURE! Playing on “individual phobias” (such as dogs) TORTURE! And “mild, non-injurious physical contact such as grabbing, poking in the chest with the finger and light pushing.” TORTURE!

And lest we forget: Christina Aguilera; TORTURE!

Let's review some more: Nazis - Holocaust where millions were gassed; Soviets - gulags and millions dead; Pol Pot - Cambodian genocide. Does that sound like the American military to you?

Have we forgotten what happened on September 11th 2001? Has it been that long ago that we forgot who these people are and what they did to us? Here is a quick reminder...

How unhinged do you have to be to make statements like this? How ignorant of history do you have to be to accuse the American military of such atrocities? This man should be disgraced out of public service...

Re: the Geneva Convention - these "detainees" are not qualified to receive treatment under the Geneva Convention. In fact, the Geneva Convention was put together specifically to address how to treat legitimate prisoners of war, not spies and terrorists. Durbin the Idiot would have us fight using rules that our enemy is not bothering to adhere to themselves. Now, I'm all for taking the high road, but isn't it odd that the Party of Love is more interested in giving the terrorists an advantage while screaming about our casualty rates (which are still extremely low for any war in history). It defies all logic...but that's the Democrats for you...
