ONN reports, I deride:
A prisoner serving a life sentence for murder is suing the state after a warden made him shave his beard and sideburns, which he says violates his beliefs as an Orthodox Jew.I blame Bush.
Fifty-two-year-old Ralph Beasley was transferred to the Toledo Correctional Institution last year from a prison in Marion, which has a religious-living program for inmates.
Beasley was allowed to keep his beard and sideburns there.
But the Toledo prison's policy prohibits beards longer than a half-inch.
Prisons spokeswoman Andrea Dean says the restrict is mean to keep inmates from hiding weapons or drugs in their beards.
She says inmates can ask for a waiver because of religious beliefs and that complaints are reviewed on an individual basis.
And I demand an investigation.
And a recount!
