BBC Update

Tom Blumer emails to say that we may have found the culprit at BBC: World Affairs Editor, John Simpson. It this piece, he calls the terrorists who bombed London, "misguided criminals" (third paragraph).

This just goes to show that the Left is pretty much the same all over the world. Their answer to terrorism is to take a law enforcement approach. Clearly, this 7/6 thinking on the part of Mr. Simpson, and that approach failed to prevent the attack in the first place.

Ed Lasky of American Thinker asks just who misguided these so-called criminals. Good question...the answer is fairly obvious to those of us who take the threat of Islamofascism seriously.

11:30AM Update

Here's a Yahoo News Alert:
LONDON (AP) BBC-TV has reported that a bomber died in London bus explosion.
All of which brings me to this piece in the Telegraph:
The BBC's guidelines state that its credibility is undermined by the "careless use of words which carry emotional or value judgments".

Consequently, "the word 'terrorist' itself can be a barrier rather than an aid to understanding" and its use should be "avoided", the guidelines say.
So, a bomber who died in the bus explosion isn't a terrorist according to the BBC's style book.

Whatever happened to objective journalism being the bearer of truth? Now we know...
