Mark's Remarks
Hackett's conduct is reprehensible. Also, his press release is full of inaccuracy. Mr. Hackett is not the first Iraqi Freedom vet to run. No, and I am not referring to his blogging adversary, Eric Minameyer.
No, in 2004, in the state of Virginia, a Democrat who was a vet of the war ran and lost in the election for Congress.
2nd, if you look at Hack's website, his "solution" for terrorism is simply unrealistic. For someone who likes to throw around reality, let's have some, eh?
Also, he sees this as a victory for Al Queda in London. I think not. It will backfire. The Brits are ticked. The world community is ticked.
Looking back to Iraq, the terror bombings in London have zilch to do with the progress being made there. Likewise in Afghanistan.
I take it Maj. Hackett did not get out with the grunts, because members of his own unit that I have spoken to have starkly different pictures of the war than Mr. Hackett. Or, could Mr. Hackett simply proving himself to be the insincere trial lawyer he appears to be, appealing to the fever swamp left in a desperate attempt to get votes and money?
