As others have informed us in the comments, it is official...here is the Yahoo News Alert:
WASHINGTON (AP) President Bush announced Monday that he has installed John Bolton as ambassador to the United Nations, employing the 'recess appointment' to circumvent a resistant Senate.
Bolton will serve in the post until the start of the next Congress, which is in 2006, unless he is confirmed by the Senate to a permenant posting.
