I am Shocked, Shocked to Find Gambling in This Establishment

At what point can we start questioning the patriotism of the New York Times? Check out this Jack Kelly bit from Jewish World Review:
Here's how the story was presented by Moss in the New York Times Aug. 14th: "For the second time since the Iraq war began, the Pentagon is struggling to replace body armor that is failing to protect American troops from the most lethal attacks of insurgents.

"The ceramic plates in vests worn by most personnel cannot withstand certain munitions the insurgents use. But more than a year after military officials initiated an effort to replace the armor with thicker, more resistant plates, tens of thousands of soldiers are still without the stronger protection because of a string of delays in the Pentagon's procurement system."

Spoehr told Moss all the things he told me, but there is not a single positive quote in his story.

"You would get the impression that our soldiers were in harm's way or at risk," Spoehr said. "That is not true."
You see, the army was actually trying to get armor BETTER than what is currently needed. It was a good story that the New York Times, yet again, managed to distort into something negative. The whole story is quite fascinating, read the whole thing.

Mark's Remarks

That is the MSM way. They will say, see we got these facts, and they will turn the data into what they want: namely, a hit piece on the Bush administration. Of course, Matt, the lefty loons will discount the sources of your story because it came from something loosely associated with the JOOOOOOS.

The MSM is the leader in distortion. Note what they did to the "yellowcake" story. They spun it to make it sound like Bush made it all up, and that the Brits didn't buy it. The Brits still stand by their intel, and Wilson's own Niger report that he gave orally (since he was too lazy to actually write stuff down, like hard data) showed that there was more to affirm the attempts at purchasing Yellowcake than deny it. However, that is not the impression one gets from the MSM.

Maybe it is time to start questioning the patriotism of the MSM, of the editors. Maybe it is time for those of us who see the daily slandering of our troops' mission, who see the garbage being said about our efforts, to quit being polite and start questioning the patriotism of some out there who say "my country, wrong at every turn!"
