Peter Jennings, long the face of ABC News, died yesterday after a battle with lung cancer. Even though I often disagreed with Mr. Jennings's views, my heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. I lost someone to lung cancer several years ago, and my sympathy and condolences to the family.
I will give Mr. Jennings this, unlike Dan Blather over at CBS, Mr. Jennings actually was interested in what conservatives had to say, and actually researched some of their views. Sean Hannity told the story of Jennings having him sign one of Sean's books. Sean noted that the book was filled with notes and highlights. Mr. Jennings also was aware of the new media, and was intrigued by it. Out of all of the MSM big three, I disliked him the least.
Now, the era of Blather, Brokaw, and Jennings has ended. Even though we disagreed on many things, Godspeed, Mr. Jennings.
