Better late than never, but here is some news about the replacement:
WASHINGTON (AP) R. David Paulison, head of FEMA's emergency preparedness force, is President Bush's pick to replace Mike Brown as head of the relief agency, two senior administration sources say.
This guy apparently has something like 30 years worth of fire department history including time as the chief of Miami Dade's department...significantly better choice. Competence matters.
