I'm sure this is not the sort of press coverage the Blackwell campaign has in mind...from the
Cincinnati/Kentucky Post:
Cincinnati School Superintendent Rosa Blackwell will see another $17,500 in her pay check as the result of action by the city board of education Tuesday, but whether she technically got a pay raise depends on whom you ask.
The board approved the pay increase, 4-3, bringing her salary to $197,500.
CPS board President Florence Newell, who was among those voting to approve the measure, said the board was officially approving Blackwell's promotion to superintendent and setting the position's new salary.
Now, here's the bad news...
While Blackwell received good news, teachers received bad news. Several schools learned they will have to cut long-term substitute teachers because of declining enrollment.
The local news (I was watching FOX 19 this morning) has been making it sound as if Mrs. Blackwell is getting a raise while cutting full-time teachers. This appears not to be the case, but even the appearance of impropriety will be pounced on by Democrats come election time.
