Bitten Twice, Will You Learn...

principles matter, Mr. President?

Remember when you supported Arlen Spector over Toomey? Remember how the hacks hailed you for that, Mr. President, and how savvy you were to get political capital to use to keep Senator Spector in line. Well, Mr. President, what happened? He has burned you every opportunity since you campaigned and supported him. His first question to John Roberts was meant to throw him into an abortion issue quagmire, and now that you have stated that you wanted Alito confirmed before the New year, your ol' Pal Arlen says sit on it Potzie, and says hearings won't start until the New Year.

Then, there is your buddy Lincoln Chaffee. Good ol' Mr. Chaffee. Rather than doing what is right for the country, he votes to pacify the environmental lobby and keep gas prices high. However, Mr. Chaffee is too stupid to see that he is helping the coming Democrat strategy of blaming Republicans for keeping gas prices high. What am I talking about? Mr. Chafee voted with committee democrats to kill a bill that would have streamlined the building of new refineries, the Gas PRICE ACt (S1772).

Inhofe said he pleaded with Chaffee, but he sided with the Dems to cover his own rear. Inhofe told Chafee that this was all part of a plan to blame Republicans, and that itwould ultimately hurt Chafee. However, Chaffee claimed to the environmental lobby.

This is nothing new for Chaffee. Or for that matter his New England Collegaues Snowe and Collins. It is high time the Republican party hold these people accountable. It is turncoats like these, who vote with the Democrats at the expense of hurting the country and hte party just to protect their own little empires, who have stalled the Bush agenda. It is turncoats like these who cause me to renew my pledge, NOT ONE MORE DAMNED DIME, to the RNC until they clean this refuse up and not give them funds to run with. Better to have a democrat who you know will vote aginst you than a stealth democrat who claims to be with you but is really against you.

Principles matter, RNC and Mr. President.
