DeWine Has Another Challenger

From the Cincinnati Enquirer:
Saying he wanted to control the reach, cost and growth of government, a Cincinnati engineer and math teacher announced Thursday that he would challenge U.S. Sen. Mike DeWine for the Republican nomination.

Though William G. Pierce's announcement Thursday at the Golden Lamb was attended by only four people - including his wife and his mother - the 53-year-old father of three says his message will appeal to the masses.

DeWine and Pierce would face each other in a May 2006 primary.
Bizzy mentioned to me that he was expecting another challenger to DeWine. I hope this ain't it as Mr. Pierce has never run for political office before and seems to have gathered little support prior to his announcement.

Pierce was a Captain in the USAF Reserves and the owner of Pierce Processing. He is anti-abortion and pro-2nd Amendment (but doesn't own a gun).

Here is some news from the Miami Valley Conservative Alliance about another challenger:
Monday, Nov. 28 at 7PM, John Mitchel, Lt Col, USAF (ret) will be speaking at the Blue Chip Young Republican meeting at O'Bryon's Irish Pub (upstairs) 1998 Madison Rd, Cincinnati Ohio 45208.
Previously, John Hritz announced a challenge to DeWine but since has decided to run for another state-wide office instead.

Mark's Remarks

Boy, sounds like it will be a yawner of a primary....
