Lieberman's Mistake

Let's take a moment to review what Sen. Lieberman has had to say about the war in Iraq from the Washington Post:
A true wartime president, Lieberman said, would reach out regularly to congressional leaders of both parties. He would explain strategy, admit mistakes, be open to suggestions.
I think this President would prefer to be open about what is going on, but unfortunately he can't because there are bloodsucking vultures waiting to pounce.

How do I know this? Check this out:
SEAN HANNITY, CO-HOST: A FOX News exclusive. Earlier today I obtained a copy of a memo apparently written by a Democratic member of the Senate select committee on intelligence, outlining a strategy to handle questions about the Bush administration's use of intelligence leading up to the war in Iraq.

Among other things, the memo says, "Prepare to launch an independent investigation when it becomes clear we have exhausted the opportunity to usefully collaborate with the majority. We can pull the trigger on an independent investigation of the administration's use of intelligence at any time, but we can only do so once. The best time to do so will probably be next year."
Once this got out, there was no way the administration could do as Lieberman suggests. What's worse, is that Lieberman only has his fellow Democrats to blame for it.

By continually feeding the Bush-hating far left, Lieberman's colleagues have done their country a disservice. What the Democratic strategy has done is sacrifice a united front in the war on terror. You can't blame the administration for that.

Rather than complaining and wasting time playing games (like calling secret sessions of the Senate), why aren't the Democrats offering solutions? Why aren't they presenting serious ideas?
