This morning on Bill Cunningham's radio show, Jean Schmidt said she regrets her choice of words but stands by the sentiment that we cannot abandon Iraq.I got a text message yesterday from Mark saying that he saw Brown County Chariman Paul Hall on Channel 12 making his statements.
Cunningham told Schmidt that the Chair of the Brown County Republican Party has said he will not support her for re-election and asked if she was concerned about her ability to survive this. Schmidt confidentally responded, "Oh, I think I'll survive it just fine."
As for the Brown County Chairman, "in all honesty, he didn't support me to begin with."
What was really interesting is that Paul Hall, nor the good folks at Channel 12, mentioned that Paul Hall is considering a run against Schmidt in the primary. That is a useful piece of information to have when you're talking about endorsements from a County party, isn't it?
Stealth campaigning by ommission is about as bad as going negative.
Perhaps the Chairman should be more concerned about getting Brown County Republicans to the polls, as they seemed to be pretty absent when Schmidt beat Hackett.
